An Afternoon Nap

I've been off work for two weeks and have gotten in the habit of taking an afternoon nap. The recliner seems to be my favorite place to kick back for a rest. This could be habit forming. So what about the rest of you MyLotters, afternoon nap or no?

If I am at home then I often have a nap in the afternoon especially in the cooler months. I think 'why not?' if I feel like it. Whatever I should be doing will still be there when I wake up so I can do it later when I am refreshed from my nap. It does no harm and some say that a short nap is a better pick me up than a longer sleep. It certainly does wonders for me when it happens!

I have read that a short nap is benifical. Not sure if it's supposed to be good for you health or if it just improve your concentration for the rest of the day.

Things are going, moving right along. I had a port put in yesterday, so they don't have to stick my arm all the time. Still sore from that. Took a little nap when we got home. Tomorrow I should start chemo.

I take afternoon nap irregularly and sometimes it becomes a long time sleep. I may forget to amplify my clock alert sound so it makes me get up later, a little unsatisfied with a nap.

Today I tried to take a nap, but I think my brain would not let me sleep for fear I would over sleep. See I am picking my parents up at the airport at 4:30 and it wouldn't do to be late.

That is the way I usually am. Maybe a Sunday afternoon nap after a busy Saturday or late night. But being off work it has been different.

I am not working now, been laid off for a while, and yes, I do tend to take an afternoon nap from time to time. Most of the time I will take a nap to block out the ringing of the phone, because now, since I have not worked for so long, my bills are piling up, and people are calling. So, a lot of times, after I have looked at the job listings in the newspaper, and check online for jobs, I may take a nap for a little while. My husband loves to nap.

Let's enjoy our naps while we can. Soon I'll be back at work and you'll find a job and we won't get a nap except on Saturday or Sunday. Good luck with the job hunting!

Hi there caver1 I do on occasion take a nap in the afternoon. It depends on how much sleep I got the night before. Like for the past 2 days I hav been taking naps and still going to bed early too. I am not sure why I am so tired but if I need the sleep than I need it. Take care and happy mylotting to you as well.

If I can get a little nap then I'm more awake in the afternoon and evening when the kids and hubby are home.

Hi, I take afternoon naps! I feel bad as I am wasting time taking naps when I could be doing something more productive with my time but I am in a habit now! I started taking afternoon naps since my son was born as I wouldn't get a full nights sleep so I would nap when he naps. I love sleep so I can't help but have a nap when my son has one:)

When my kids were babies I would nap when they did too. Only way to get enough rest.
