My putting today

Mike was off work today, taking a vacation day that he was getting ready to lose if he didn't take off. We went over to the country club to play a round of golf. I really played horribly, especially on the front 9. I sent my brother a text and laughingly told him that I should have just gone to the beach because I hit the water or the sand 6 out of the first 9 holes! Then on the back 9 I started to improve my game. Then on the 16th hole it happened. I chipped up from the sand trap and it landed just at the edge of the green. But it was on the opposite side, about 25 feet from the hole. Hubby tried to help me with the way the green was breaking, and how the ball would roll once I hit it. I putted it just the way he told me and it went in on one putt! I've never hit one that long before! What's your one time claim to fame? Ever done something just one time and never had it happen again?

Putt Putt golf is about as far as I go in the golf arena. It took me forever to know what 'par' meant. So feel free to play me anytime. It will give you and anyone else an ego boost since I stink at miniature golf. Um, good at one thing and it never happened again? Probably four strikes in a row last time I went bowling. Yep, that's my claim to fame.

My parents get very competitive when they play anything against the other. Mainly I blame my dad for that. It got so bad, they had to agree never to play the card game Phase One again.

WOW! I'd love to hit four strikes in a row! Mike and I went bowling over Spring Break. The kids were all gone, so it was just the two of us, which meant it tended to get very, very competitive. I don't know what it is about us when we do things like that. Now on the golf course, we are both equally bad, so it is a game and not serious.

Mike and I are like that about alot of things. The latest one is playing Battleship on pogo. It was one of my favorite games as I was growing up. My brother and I would play for hours, and had both the original version and the electronic Battleship game. When they put it on Pogo, I was ecstatic!

I golfed in high school and the one thing that really sticks out in my mind was the time I went to tee off and the head of my club went farther than the ball did.....Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...OMG..we laughed so hard we cried.....I don't remember golfing after that.....LOL...

Wow! That would be embarassing I know. The very first time I ever played golf was with my sister and both of our husbands. My brother in law was helping me and he showed me how to hold the club and tee off. Well, I swung back, and I was nervous and it was hot and my hands were sweaty, and as I went to swing forward, the club slipped and instead of the ball flying forward, the entire club did. I can feel your pain with your memory!

Hi Feona... How are things with you. I was going back over some of my discussions that I'd started looking for new responses that I had missed. I've been trying to do at least 10 of these each day to make a little more money each week!

I was never good at badminton so I guess we're quite even! We used to play some when I was younger my grandparents had a set and we would set up the net in the backyard and play. Then I think I learned to play for real in high school physical education class, but to be honest, I don't remember anything about the rules or anything.

I had it happen when I was bowling. It feels great and fun. I used to enjoy bowling alot. It was a great way to have a great time. Congrats to you! Glad you had your claim to fame. Nope, it didnt happen again, but who knows maybe in the future?

Actually, I hit another decent putt yesterday when hubby and I went to play. I couldn't believe it! Of course, on the very next hole I had to putt like 4 times to get it into the hole. I get so frustrated because I can hit this great shot and then the very next one is so horrible I just want to bury myself in the sand trap and never lift my head again!
