As some of you are aware,my daughter totaled her car last weekend. I am so proud of her as she had been saving money and she went to a car lot on Wednesday and bought a car on her own. She had her dad to go with her to check it out and she even got it financed in her own name. She has her first loan and her first chance at establishing some credit! She got a 2000 Kia Sephia. It is a nice car and she got a decent deal on it. She also got $1,000 trade in on her totaled car. I feel that she got a good deal on it and she should have this one for awhile. It has 73,000 miles on it so it hasn't been driven a lot. Have you ever had one of these cars?

Did your daughter get a dealer's car? That is a car that the dealer or the people who work in the car dealership drive around and use as their vehicle until it is sold. Then the only miles they get are to and from work. That is the kind of car that my husband drove when we were first married. He would go to the Car place and ask for a dealer's model which was new except the employees drove it to and from work. I do hope that the dealer fixes up the car that was in an accident and lets the people he sells it that it has been damaged or maybe he can sell it for parts.

No, it was a trade in car from an older lady who bought it new. I was surprised at the mileage, but I am glad. She tends to drive a lot and I think that makes a big difference if a car already has a lot of miles. He won't sell the car to anyone as it can't be fixed. He will either use it as a parts car or sell it at an auction or scrap it.

That would do it. I know when our car was wrecked, (two guys ran into it while it was parked, it was slippery and snowy) and we had had it for over ten years, and it was a dealer's when we bought it, we really drove it around, going on holidays from province to province and to the States. Not only that, we used to drive a lot in the weekends, and my husband drove it to work. They said that it was only good for parts. And if that old lady had a lot of relatives all over the States, and did a lot of visiting, then her car would be only good for parts in about ten or so years.

My daughter is fairly smart and she has a good head on her shoulders. She is 18 and has bought her home and now has a really nice car and she is buying property from us for her home to be on. She has worked since she was 14.
