how do your respond to the posted discussion here in mylot? for some time now, my routine would be to check for the discussion that my friends have posted but if there is nothing i cannot share to their posted discussion i will then check the 'new' tab under discussion. but lately, i have figured that 'new' post with similar thoughts or subject can be deleted once proven that it is very similar to discussions previously posted. so, would you post to discussions posted months ago? do you care to see if the discussions you responding is a re-post?

I am actually all for bringing back the old discussions, there are alot of mylotters that have come and gone and to bring up discussions that were brought up 6 months or a yr ago would be viewed in a different text now....so I would love to see how many of my discussions in the future can be resurrected and viewed different by a whole new host of mylotters!!! after all that is why I post them...I want views from everyone and it doesnt have a deadline for me to when they get responses.... plus I love to bring back the discussions that some of the mylotters are on here now that have been here for a year or so.... just to see if there view point of disucssion has changed since they posted it months and months ago!! happy mylotting!!!!!

Couldn't agree more! Many discussions are never out of date. Only the one-liner quiz type where there is nothing to really discuss are the ones where nothing can be added but they don't last long anyway. We will get some of ya oldies back real soon!

I respond anywhere that it catches my interest and it is not important how old the discussion is. Recently I responded on a discussion which was 3 years old and had over 900 responses!

that is so cool that a discussion had been brought back or still active... I think we all could talk about the things that have come and gone... and bring back up again, as we view it differently months after the fact!!!

For me, I honestly would respond to discussions that has been posted months ago. There are times when all the current discussions just doesn't seem to strike a chord within me to reply to, hence I use search facility at the top of the myLot page to search for discussions using keywords that I am interested in. Most of the time the search results will yield some discussions that I am comfortable replying to, and some of those can be started months ago, or sometimes even a year or two ago! Besides, by replying to these old discussions, we are still earning pennies as myLot members, so I wouldn't complain at all about it!

thank you for the information. i never thought of typing keywords into that search box. just recently tried and surprised to find out that even discussions posted 3 years ago are still on this site.

The age of the discussion isn't that important to me. I am interested in worthwhile discussions that contain quality comments. Sometimes the older discussions can be the most helpful. If I am looking for advice, it is advantageous to search for a previously posted discussion on that topic. Sometimes the answer to my question(s) is already there. Just because a discussion was started a while ago, that doesn't necessarily mean that it is no longer active or that activity can't continue. Cheers.

i do agree with you that if you are looking for answers to your personal questions, you should first search for same subjects/topics and if you can't find any, then it's the time you should start a new discussion.

After giving it some thought I would say yes. The only criteria would be that it should catch your interest. The amount of time it has on mylot servers is irrelevant. Over a period of time, new members will be added and they will stumble d across these older posts. For these people, these posts will be new posts. So, go ahead and explore mylot and you will probably find many 'new' and interesting discussions to reply to. Happy mylotting folks.

I am like you, i go to my friends tab first.. sometimes i go to top,... which is where if ound yours today.. and but a lot of the time i go to the no responses tab after the friends tab.. i like being the first few to respond.. haha i'm not sure why. and yes i also will respond to discussions i see and like no matter how old they are or if best response has already been chosen. I dont mind. what do you mean by re-post ? like someone copy and pasted a discussion ? That is highly illegal activity!! lol. I have yet to see it, but noticed some peoples discussions stating that they have seen and reported it.. I once seen a guy (he was new) posting probably 50 discussion, each one was a set in the times table!! 1 x 1 = 1 was one discussion the next one was 1 x 2 = 2 haha wow. he must have had way too much time on his hands. i believe they were deleted.

Yeah i would respond to discussions posted months ago and even a year or two ago if it's the topic of my interest. Not really bothered about how long ago the discussion is posted up....as long as it's to my interest, I will go respond to it.

Why not? If the topic intrigues me or it suits my interest, why would I refuse, unless i have responded to it before. I remember my first few months here, some of the discussion i encountered where actually more than 2 years old and still being commented on. i admit, it's completely different to the discussions of today.

I never check if the discussion is a re-post or not. Even when I start a new discussion, I never check whether the same topic has been discussed or not. Anyway, my title is so bad that I do not think anyone can use the exact title in the past or future. Even though I believe that the content has been discussed over and over again. I think the computer will recognise only duplicate title and delete away the duplication. So the trick is to ask the question another way, so that the computer thinks it is a completely new title

I really don't care about that whether its a repost or not but i only respond to the discussions if the topic is interesting and have some words to write on the topic. Mostly i search on the today's top first and if i don't find any thing interesting then i go for topics in my interests or hot. I also make it a try mostly to look for interesting topics in no responses tab because if topic is interesting why not respond.

I just join myLot.com recently. I haven't requested yet for my first pay out for it's still a long way for the minimum balance for pay out. I have read the FAQs also. I am guilty of those who don't care to see first if the discussions I am responding is a re-post. My style here in myLot.com is that whatever discussions that I can relate to or caught my interest, I would love to post a response. It's either I want to help those who seek assistance or just to share my opinion or experience on the matter being discussed. Well, I just hope and pray that those I've been to did not violate any rules of myLot.com.

I tend to do that, actually. I surf around alot. New, today's top, no responses, surf the interests, search for new discussions, go through friends' new discussions...I don't care how old it is, all I care about is that it's interesting and I can say more than two sentances about it.

Well, time never really matters. If I think that I can add something to the discussion then I go ahead responding to it. I'm surprised that some people still comment on your responses. Especially the discussion starter. It's great to see when people indulge themselves seriously rather than just making a discussion. bourne

As a matter of fact, I just responded to a discussion that was posted 10 months ago. Usually I respond to the more recent discussions, but when I look up discussions under "friends started", I find some older discussions that I will respond to.

Hello mschellemi, good day to you. Well, even the topic discussion is already posted for a long days ago or even a month, as long as I know the topic discussion I also still go and response through it, then give a very interesting response. Sometimes when I post a response to a particular past discussion I really make it very long, then there are times that I go far in the topic because of the many branches of idea that I know which causes for me to put or writte many kinds of topic same with my ideas. Well, just like you I also check the discussion of my friends made because if my friend made a discussion, It only means that I can relate to his or her discussion, for the reason we are friends and I know some sort of information regarding his/her. Sometimes because your friend was the one who made the topic it only means that you really have also a great chance to be chosen as best response! Well, that's all the end of my response here in this forum topic discussion. Happy posting and happy earning to everyone of us. Just always remember that as long as you know the particular discussion go and give your best response even the discussion is already in the past because when you enjoy it you can gain more money and friends with out expecting it. Thank you! Happy mylotting! ! !

Why not!! if the topic is intresting and worth giving a look then i will definetly do it. actually i never check the day on which it was posted, only thing i see is whether the topic is of my intrest and whether it has got some good content, even i see if i have got enough knowledge of it to provide the right respond. otherwise day and time doesnt matter for me.
