Students encounter so many struggled while studying hard in school. Difficult assignments, preparation for exams, extracurricular activities, expectation of the parents and peers company are the usual factors that pressures a student. Feels like all of your days were packed only with schoolwork. You might even find it hard to eat properly or get a good night's rest. The constant high level of stress could eventually make you sick. Could you give us some advise on how are we going to deal with such thing. How could we stop the pressure from the unrelenting force of our environment?

I'm in a similar situation as you, so I know how that stress feels. I cope with it with proper time management, and prioritising my workload. If there's a deadline with assignments next month, then I dont think about it until I've sat down to work on those assignments. Thinking far ahead and worrying makes matters worse for me. I also take time off for leisure activities, to meditate, etc. to maintain my mental balance and control my stress. Although I've not completely given up on extracurricular activities, I have reduced the time I spend on them since my coure began. Cutting down, rather than eliminating, activities has helped save me plenty of time too. You will be fine. Just keep a diary to prioritise and manage your time efficiently, dont sweat the small stuff.. and worry about the future too much. good luck :-)

Yeah your right. I gotta be more considerate now on what to do and how to manage myself while it. Student should have a sense of moderation particularly in school and in work if they have any.

well, when i was a student, i used to always have a "me" time. it doesn't necessarily hve to be at the end of the day. but at any point you start feeling thinned out, you sit in a corner, listen to music or perhaps eat something sweet (grapes worked for me) and just spend a few minutes with yourself. the most important thing is to remember what YOU want to do and what YOU need to accomplish, not what others want you to do. pamper yourself in small ways, the rewards are so much greater than anyone can ever appreciate.

I just wanted to say that I liked what you said about remembering what You want to do and what You need to accomplish - so many forget this.

i definitely know what you mean. but for me i have a timetable i stick to it so i know what to do and when to do it. i have all kinds of time table. i have one when there's a school semester, one during Easter, one during Christmas, one during my vacations with me, i basically have lots of timetables and they've all been tested out and seem to work for me. it organizes my time so im ensure to get a good night's rest and everything done. but of course there are days when the unexpected happens and i get ill and just don't feel like following a time table so i have a sick time table too! its just basically the same things spreaded out with longer period of times so i can take my time doing them. right now you're probably thinking that i am a psycho for having so many time tables but hey it seriously helps and i only have to keep this up until university is over then is hello fabulous life with a great job and my carefree days shall come eventually when im older. i have a motto work now and play later it gets the job done. then again where's the fun in playing when you're old so always always remember to take some time off and slow down every once in a while. you don't wanna stop one day and realized you've made a mistake and you're wondering how you got where you were. hope i helped. cheers love.

Thanks for your advise! It's really important to have an organization table in making things where they should be. We must do first what is important then do what you want after that. We can't just avoid those stuffs but we can manage them actually.

Stay behind the line, just study and go home, never hang out with the punk, jocks and any other that are bad man influence, maybe you can try the nerds(you'll find this man in every library) and never hang out at the midnight(this are hippy gangs favorite). Just do the positive activity that school provided.

Well when we were in schools or colleges there is some thing very important because on the basis of our performance over there we are going to make a path towards our career. If we are unable to make good impact during our education then it is going to be difficult to get good job instantly. So we were forced to study a lot during our schools and even college days. We have to get good results and that is the most important thing for our parents and well wishers. The solution for this is that we just have to study topics on regular basis so that we don't have to a heap of notes just before few days of exams. This even keeps our confidence high because at least this makes our concepts clear in our mind. And so we don't have to work hard for few days but we have to work consistent throughout the year for few hours daily.

One way to avoid pressure for me is playing football. Me and my friends usually hangout to have a break. Also talking and spending time with my family give me a break from the pressure from school.

Being a student with so much work to do is a once in a life time experience that one can feel only when they are students at this age. It's hard to cope with all especially with the growing expectations of parents and self, working hard is a priority to most of the people. But the one who comes out successful is the one who makes the most of his time. Relaxing and taking rest is very important when it comes to students. They should have fun doing things that would make them relax. I for one choose to photograph in my free time. It completely frees my mind from tensions and gives me fresh thoughts. I also spend time on myLot and watch comedy if I can. bourne

I did and I can't forget some of the times that I cried because of pressure plus some of those were match by personal problems. I lived alone in college and I had to manage all by myself. But I can actually say it's (the pressure) incomparable with what I get at work. hahaha..

for me, as a student i di really pressure when it comes to lots of assignments, projects, dealines of experiments, laboratory and many more. there are three terms in college which can we called it prelim, midterm, and final. most of the pressure time for us student when it comes to finals. there are lots of projects that was given to us, aside from that we need to study to got good grades. it is easy for me to handle pressure because i set myself away from my friends. i dont like to be disturb if im having my work. step by step in doing projects. who will be the first to submit then i will make it first. i also place myself were i can relax and do whatever i want. i mean doing all my assignments and projects, while studying.

I am the kind of person who is always under pressure,I'm working, studying, being a mother to 2 boys and a daughter to my parents. It is very hard but I try to do it 1 at a time.I always prioritize my family, then work last is school.I make sure that all 3 will not overlap and see what should be done first. It helped me and I'll be finishing school this June. Also,I try to find time for myself to relax even for just 5 minutes.

Wow! A lot of useful advices there, I guess you are pretty much a full bottle now ^_^. Just my 2 cents: 1. Prepare as best as you could. 2. When you feel stressed remember these things: a. If you feel pressure from parent - Parents usually expect a lot from kids as they worry that their kids will not do their best for their future otherwise (this can sound very demanding but believe me they have a good intention. I know this cause my Dad was very demanding when I was back in Uni and now looking back I am grateful that he did). b. If you feel pressure from peers - Just remember everyone is different, some are more talented than others, but if you do your best there will be nothing for you to regret (this I speak from experience ^^). If you fail to achieve your goal, dont feel down (feeling sad is natural but dont dwell on it for too long ^^), just keep doing your best - dont cheat on yourself though. 3. Remember life is a long exciting adventure and it does not end with Uni. Enjoy Uni life (in fact everything that you do) to the fullest. If we can go to Uni and study we are luckier than millions of other people, this is a blessing! so be happy about it ^^ (this is what I always tell myself when I feel down). 4. Never force yourself excessively. If you feel that your head is so full that you cannot take it anymore then stop. Take a rest or go get some fresh air (dont do anything stressful or anything that will tire your mind even further), then when you feel better continue your study. 5. Try to enjoy and understand, not just memorise whatever you are studying (this is a skill I am yet to master as well, but it helps me a lot when I constantly remind myself about it). Things you understand and enjoy will stay for much longer. 6. Help friends help yourself. Two brains are always better than one. Teaching each other+ having discussions with friends will help you understand thing better. 7. Listen to Bobby McFerrin's song - Don't worry be happy. LOL this is only if you like it. I played this song a lot of time when I was doing my assignment in Uni. In short, if you like listening to music, keep a good collection of uplifting song, it helps brighten up your mood and help you study better. 8. Last but not least - just remember once upon a time, writing letters and doing addition and subtraction made your head spins .. but you get through it right! I guess the moral that you can take from this is - practice makes perfect ^^. I guess we learn better when we were kids because we never think too much ^^. Okiez, I better stop here, hope it helps. P.S. I have only been here (at mylot) for a short time but it seems like there are a lot of supportive people here, so yeah if you feel down talk to/message us. I am sure all these kind people won't mind. Cheers, L30n84

I am a student, in the U.K studying physics. I find that it is very important that you stay focused on the task(s) in hand and not get distracted by less important matters. If You get our hand down when studying, in my opinion, you wont get any of these stress problems that some people report.

I understand this problem completely. Stress is overwhelming in school, and out of it. Teachers, some good and some bad, overload me with homework. Friends pressure me to choose between them and school. My parents push me to get straight A's, which is a task I have deemed completely and utterly impossible. All the while suffering through the regular drama of high school, as well as the struggle to find a job. Everything is completely crazy! Fortunately, I figured out what works best with me. I convinced my friends that school is important and now hang out with them on regular study sessions. Thats not to say we don't get distracted and end up playing video games or something but for the most part it works well. I talk to people when they are overworking me and tell them to let up. It actually works! Im still stressed with school, but I can now sleep and eat without getting sick.

hye..its natural for students to face a lot of pressure and problems. many homework and assignments to finish and in the meant time need to study for examinations makes us feel like we doesn't have enough time to done all this. so, to cope with this situation you need to know ways to release your tension and relax. find something like hobbies that can let the stress away. like me, i like to play football every evening with my friends. instead of its a healthy sport, its also fun you know.

I studied in the university for almost a year .I think the pressure is exited any time .When i have a exam ,i may feel nervous .At this time ,i may find some of my friends to talk something such as sports and so on ,thus ,i can forget the pressure ,and though the talk ,i may even laugh the most .I think talk with your friend is a good way to relax when you have some pressure .

Well, to relieve my stress, I always listen to light music ,have a walk in the campus, or chat with my close friends. But in order to eradicate the stress ,this kind of behavior is not enough. In my case, the pressure I feel is mostly caused by the gap between my anticipation and the reality. So personally , my most useful way to free myself of pressure is trying to lower my anticipation and in the meantime work harder to realize my goal.
