what do you do with receipts?

There are a lot of online promotions in the U.S. with local malls or shops. A lot of times you can e-mail your receipts if accumulated over certain promotional months and then get something for free like a gift certificate or small gift like a recyclable shopping bag. I wish there was something like that for Americans. I just either save them to use with crafts or ill recycle them.

My receipts mainly consist of grocery items so after writing down the items and how much they are in my grocery book, I would use the other blank side of the receipt as rough paper and when it's fully written, I would toss it into our recycle box.

Well i do keep receipt until it's purpose expires. You like when i purchase a product then realized that the product is defective, i can return it together with the receipt but when the product is ok and it's utilized well by me, then that's the time i will throw away the receipt. I am aware of the contest of texting the receipt's serial number but i think it's only applicable on receipts with a very high amount of purchase. I don't think a cheap single purchase can win.

It's not like I like to collect receipts, it just that I just put them in my handbag and forgot all about them. In the end, I got plenty of old receipts in my handbag. There's no such contest in my country but we can win something if we shop more than the amount stated by certain supermarket or hypermarket. If we're lucky enough that is.
