I've only been there a few times but have to agree with you about the prices. I expected a LOT more than what they had. the parking is bad, you have to walk a LONG way to get to the park if you aren't there at 6 in the morning. The food was ok but nothing I'd rave about. They do need more security there, with all the crazies running around they better make sure they have metal detectors this summer. There are other cool places in Pittsburgh that you can go for a lot less than a day at Kennywood. Even when they have the $5.00 coupons, you are still looking at spending at least $50.00 a person for food, games and all the other things that everyone wants.

i can go to 2 parks in erie for only 23.00 so i think thats what we are doing this year , the only thing i really liked at kennywood was the potato patch thats the only place i got my food and i area parking is just crazy there and when you have little kids they don't want to walk that far . the school tickets are even more this year.

With this economy I'm not surprised about it. Besides, it's still cheaper than where I am for my park. But think about it in regards to daily/weekly/monthly expenses. It's not cheap to run a theme park, electricity running 24/7, employees to pay, concession stand items, maintenance costs. If any of those costs have gone up since prior ownership, then of course the admission fee would have to reflect that. The park will lose money if the owners don't compensate for all of the expenses. Besides, every year prices go up everywhere, it's not uncommon.
