Just out of curiousity, how much time, effort and creativity does everyone put into thier chilrdrens birthday parties. I love throwing my kids birthday parties, Now that they are old enough they pick the theme and how they want thier cake to look (my mother in law is a cake extrodinaire) I tak the theme they choose and run with it, bringing them in on every bit of it. My favorite is for my daughters 6th birthday she wanted a carnival. ( She actually wanted it for her 5th but my fathers funeral was on her birthday and I was such a mess we had to do something more impromtu.) For a year I bought little prizes ie pencils, highliters mini notebooks, sharpeners, erasers, stickers. She helped decided ongames and how many tickets they were worth. She even helped put the games together. It was a blast and it was a party that we were able to invite her entire class, soccer team family, friends and have a blast. But either way both my kids have very creative lively parties. Does anyone go this extra mile? I only had 2 or 3 birthday parties growing up and I just don't want them having the same feelings i had of resentment.

I have been making my sons birthday a big deal. His first birthday it was spongebob. He was into spongebob and I thought it was a cute theme. I bought all kinds of spongebob decorations, cake, everything. His second birthday I couldn't figure out what he was into. So I went with curious george. I bought plenty of george decorations as well. Didn't buy special cake though. His third birthday is not for several more months. I hope he is still into madagascar then. Thats what he is into now and i think it would make a great party theme.

When my two older kids were younger I used to do all kinds of stuff, make up games buy all the theme stuff, the pinatas the whole nine yards. Now they are older, so it is more about the food than anything else. My little guy is just getting old enough to the point where I will have to all that for him again. He is the baby of the entire family so most of my nieces and nephews are all older now. So most of the fun now will be with my little guy and his friend's from school. I will enjoy doing it. I am looking forward to doing it again for a few years. They grow up so fast I don't want to miss any part of it.

Hello, Yes I do love to throw my children birthday parties when I can. Because I now have three, it does get super costly, especially because we want to make sure to invite all of our friends to it .. which for now includes parents also because everyone is still so young! We do the outdoor parties a lot - jumpers, outdoor play equipment, games, sometimes pinatas, crafts, etc. I create custom birthday invitations as a business for super affordable & high quality! I can do anything you want really - so for themed birthday parties this is perfect! Check out my site www.creativeinspirations4u.webs.com if you don't do your own invitations! Birthdays are so much fun!
