my maid servant left our work and said that she is going to her village and will take more than a month to come back. she asked us to give her a rise in salary which we did twice in a year. nobody do that. before leaving if we count that also, it was thrice in a year and then too she left us and said that our work is too much. we are paying her the most but she dont wanna wash clothes like bed sheets or jeans and all those tough clothes. i know and agree that these clothes are really tough ones but these are not regular clothes these we give her once in fifteen or twenty days and most of those also we wash in our washing machine. now she came to our house and said that she has come to meet my liitle angel (14 month old) and not us. asked if we are having any other maid or not. i donno she will join or not but she asked that if she wants will we take her back . she will be joining after 20th may. what do you friends do in that situation. will you people take her or continue the new maid? she use to work more as comparative to this new maid of ours. what should i do?

I think there is more to the story then you are telling or even know. Maybe someone talked to her and she thought she could do better somewhere else but when she found out the real story she wanted her old job back. I would have bargained with her before I gave her the job back. All these things are ruled by culture, what is common in one country may not be so in another. Blessings

I am not open to the idea of taking her in, even if she is good in work. No, salary should be as per the salaries that are given by the neighbors. This time, it should be you who should be saying I am getting a house help from hometown, who will be there permanently as she is a destitute. That will bring the woman to her senses.
