How often do you look yourself in a mirror or other reflective surface?

How many times do you walk by a mirror or other reflective surface and catch your appearance and think, "I look so good, so bad, so fat, so thin, so old, so young, so messy, so neat or something like that? You know, there are four mirrors in the elevator. Last week, something funny happened. When my friends and took the elevator, we all looked ourselves in the mirror thinking. Five minutes later, the elevator didn't move yet. Then, I realized that we even forgot to press the button. Sure, we should not judge a person by his or her appearance. I just wondered... There are mirrors everywhere!

Mirrors are everywhere especially in the dept. stores but in my house, we have only two. One upstairs and another downstairs. Yes, I look at the mirror eveytime I pass by and look at my body and face I look good or not. But beauty as what others said; Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Beauty is nothing without character.

I agree with you. Inner beauty is more important! We associate mirror with beauty most of the time! Haha, maybe sometimes we just want to make sure that we don't look so messy!

I only look at myself in a mirror a few times a day. It is usually to brush my teeth or brush my hair.

Thanks for your response and I know that you brush your hair. I used to speak it as combing your hair.

For most of my life I have avoided mirrors and I have never had a mirror in my bedroom, the only mirror I have in my home is in the bathroom for when I want to shave, other than that I don't like mirrors, this is possibly due to the fact that I have very low self-esteem and don't want to look at myself. Mirrors are not my true reflection they cannot show what is inside me only what I look like to others. I am also scared of mirrors because it is superstition that if you break a mirror you get 7 years bad luck, I think I must have smashed lots of mirrors in my previous life as I have had more than 7 years of bad luck in my life!

I look in the mirror to make sure that I look presentable before meeting the day and probably again before I leave the house. I don't cringe should I accidentally catch a glimpse of myself in a mirror, but I no longer actively seek those reflective services.

Haha, most of the time, I don't seek the reflective services either. I just look myself in the reflective surface sometimes.

Hi hiddenwing! You are so funny! You all got into the elevator and just stood there looking at the mirror! And none of you even bothered to push the button to go wherever you were going! Now that's funny! I think it's just a natural habit to stop and look in the mirror wherever there is one! I am always looking at my hair to see how bad it looks! And it usually does look awful and I get so upset! The I look to see how fat I'm getting and get more upset! Then I realize how old I look and wonder why I am bothering to look in the mirror at all!

You are so humorous! I couldn't help chuckling! Sometimes if the mirror is different, the effect will be quite different as well. Take care

I usually have a check for myself in front of a mirror once a day when I am brushing my teeth and washing my face. It's natural for us to look ourselves in a mirror to make our appearance look good and proper.

Maybe we just get used to it. It is like a habit or something. Mirror Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of all. I just remember the fairy tale
