Can you still remember?

If I am not mistaken... as my mind tells me... during top 5 performances of the previous seasons... the 5 finalist got 2 shots of convincing the voters to vote for them by having TWO songs to state their case and prove they deserve the sole title of becoming the next American Idol.
Please correct me if I am wrong. But that is what I remember. Help me remember though if I am forgetting something. :)

They did do two songs in past years. I'm told they didn't do that last night because the producers didn't want the show to go over. So I'm betting that next week the remaining 4 will each do two songs.

YEah, i think so too.. they should have 2 songs for the contest as it enters into the final 5.. After which when it's down to final 3-4, it's 3 songs each for them ^_^
However, that applies to the previous few seasons i watched, but i'm not sure about this season though.. haha =D BEcause there might be new rules or regulations for there's an additional judge now.. lol =D

Maybe due to some rules that was changed like the SAVE thing... a new judge... a TOP 13... and etc. Or maybe its just that TOP 5 doesn;t need to prove much because they have proven themselves well enough in the previous episodes. But I still wished they have sung TWO songs so that my HAPPINESS hearing them might have been DOUBLED as well.

The show is more about commercials and personalities than it is about music anymore anyway.

Yeah, that is what I thought as well. I thought they normally went to two songs at this time. They also usually do some kind of big charity show. That just kind of allows the contestants to perform with out any pressure. I do hope they go to 2 songs next week. I like seeing them do two. The producers seem to be doing less with the show this year, I don't like that they lip sink their group performances either. For some reason I feel like we are not getting to know these contestants as well as we have contestants in the past.

And that is NOT good at all. I wish we are really hearing a live performance than a recorded one which is really so unnatural.

Yes, you remembered it right. :) Unfortunately, having four judges critique takes a lot of time that's why I think they opted to let the contestants perform only one song.
