Do Athiests have a sense of humor?

Y'all PLEASE don't take this the wrong way.
I just came across it. It made me laugh and I had to share...
My daughter is gearing up for a "big game" this week at school.
She's making posters and stuff.
I guess she decided to make a tombstone for her opponents so she asked me to google images of tombstones so she could get an idea of how to draw one.
One of the images we came across was the tombstone of an athiest.
It said...
Here lies an athiest...
All dressed up and no place to go.
It made me laugh out loud.
Does that make me a jerk?

can't help it.
I'm really not anti-athiest, I just thought it was funny.

Well, I'm not an athiest but I laughed at that, too! It IS funny! Since they don't believe in an afterlife, and people are generally dressed nicely in their caskets, that saying would certainly be true, huh? LOL
But, who knows who decided to put that on the tombstone? It would be interesting to find out!

Is their really such a thing as an atheist? I could be very wrong here, but almost without fail in my life, just about everyone claiming to be an atheist, has in time revealed themselves to be very angry at this being they sware doesn't exist... kind of perplexing, yet not at the same time...

Pretty silly I would say. Athiests need to have a sense of humor like everyone else. I think it is the christians that don't seem to have one. I am a agnostic and I laugh at stuff all the time. You have to. It is so rediculous. Alittle comic relief never hurt that is for sure. Athiests, extremists and radicals. They need to all get together and party!

it's good to have a sense of humor~I have a low point of laughing~
I always laugh for very simple jokes,and everyone looks at me confused...then all of them will laugh...not because of the joke,but because I'm looked so funny...

atheists are people like anybody else, some have a sense of humour some don't just like anybody else. And another thing what people think is funny differs from person to person,

Yes it was funny but quite discriminating I think that your daughter draw that.
Some of the people who's going to watch the game might be an atheist too and not just their opponents. I am a Catholic and I respect everybody's beliefs. My boyfriend is an atheist and he has a good sense of humor like me.

Like most things there are degrees of senses of humor. I smiled when I read your post. The truth to this is an Athiest believed there is nowhere to go so I think it is safe to laugh at it. everything can't be PC.

I think anyone can have a sense of humor. The tombstone story was cute, too. And I have read some religious jokes that are pretty funny.

I think that is very funny, whether you're an atheist or not. My favorite comedian was the late George Carlin, and that kind of humor is very much in line with his performances.

If people are too serious about everything, they won't enjoy life. Atheists therefore, must have a sense of humor. They are still human, after all.

That is so funny. Getting all prepared, and well since he does not believe in God, he's just stuck there. Of course, the cartoon of the tombstone was not made by an atheist. But I do wonder if an atheist sees it, that he will laugh, but me, I would.

I would have to say that there is definite proof that they have a sense of humor. Or it was a really really pissed off family member .. LOL!!! But I have to say yeah atheists have a sense of humor.. Most of us do no matter what the denomination is .. LOL!!

hey, miamilady, I think this is pretty funny also. I'm also pretty sure that most athiests have a sense of humor also. They've got to, because I think what was written on the tombstone, for an athiest, is true!

I'm not really an athiest, but I'm certainly not a Christian and I think it's freakin' hilarious. Of course it doesn't make you a jerk to laugh at that! If ahtiests do take offense to that, they have no sense of humor and should just hush and move on.
