Another April has come and gone...did you achieve what you wanted to last month? Still holding onto something that you'd normally have given up because of the economy (pet, car, house, job, boyfriend/girlfriend)? I'm holding onto this job I have, although they want me to quit (quitting means no unemployment), already lost my pets and car (citibank just needs to realize that my house has to go through this short sale). I'm keeping the boyfriend though...he can't get away that easy! ;) But it seemed April really dragged on....I could hardly wait until May! Of course, now that it's here, it feels oddly anticlimatic. So is anyone glad to see May, or are you wishing for April again to have a do-over?

I'm sorry you had to give up so many things in April.
It wasn't a bad month for me, and I wasn't overly looking forward to May's arrival, no more than the usual.
It HAS been super busy for me lately. It's like that every spring. That's when all sorts of annual appointments start to come up (dentist, specialist doctors, optometrist, etc).
If anything, I'm really looking forward to the summer, when the boys and I won't have to do all that running around.

Now where the heck are all the panda spankers then???
My April wasn't any different to any other month for me really. I tend to be just gooing through the motions these days anyway to get myself back to my home country by the end of the year. I'm fortunate to have a role that's not affected by the downturn much at all and I'm also fortunate enough to have a skill-set that makes it pretty easy for me to get another job if things ever went pear shaped at my current job as well.
I do welcome May though, because every day that passes is one day closer to me going home! I've managed to keep my Wife to date, don't own a car or property at the moment because I live overseas; and I have no pets either! We'll all make it through these times before we know it and then we can all look back on it wiser for the experiences.
Good luck with the house sale and I hope you can find a happy medium at your current job too.
Jeez, panda spanking and now you've gone and made me go all serious!
lol.

I am still in the same boat as I was in April 2009. So I cannot say I made great improvements regarding my financial situation yet. I am sorry that you had to lose your pets and your belongings. I hope that you manage to get over this bad wave. At least I have managed to hold on to my job. Wish you luck

Unfortunately, it appears as though I'll lose ONE of my jobs very soon, but it's the one that gives me sleepness nights! I am taking steps to protect myself in the meantime, and I've been looking for a job. The scary part is how folks are losingtheir jobs, yet everything keeps costing more! Now I'm off to job hunt!

I've been busy and not been here much.
What the heck happened?
You're keeping the BF, did you ditch the husband?
Lost your pets and car. Shyte, that's awful.
I'm glad to see May, as the wet season is coming to an end. I hate the much around the farm.
We haven't lost anything here due to the recession, just a bit behind in some of the bills, but now that the husband is back at work (for a whole week now) we should begin to catch up. Plus, I have a deal that I hope will bring some much needed income in within the month, too.

I've missed you Annie! So are things going better for you and the hubby these days? I ditched my hubby (all legal too!) five years ago...but I'm keeping the same guy (I've always complained, but for some reason I keep going back!). And I'm so sick of the rain...but it's because it bothers my shoulder really bad. I hope your deal is good!

Yes, actually, the hubby has shaped up pretty well this winter, strangely enough.
He was off work, and looking at his own mortality, since he just turned 51!
This seems to have given him a new perspecive on life and made him appreciate
me more and treat me with more respect.
I'm still in shock, of course, but we have been together for 15 yrs, so that is
alot of history to ignore and throw away. We really don't like change, do we?
Yes, please send good vibes my way regarding this big deal I am trying to make
go through. It will be quite the feather in my cap and quite a fantastic sale
for me. I could make as much as the husband does in one year's work with this
one deal. So, these things are also contributing to his respect level for me as
well.

I am devastated as I took a mystery shopping assignment at an expensive hotel only for there to be an assingment query on my report. I am worried and devastated as the cost of the visit was over 200 and without the refund my finances which are already in a mess, will be more so.

Costas, it is quite out of the ordinary for someone to pay up front on a job, THEN pay you back. I'm so sorry to hear of your difficulties, but this screams "SCAM!"--I'd advise you to find a mystery shopping gig where they give you the money up front, or at least shop at stores you normally visit. Good luck!

I don't know if I'd like to do-over April again, especially since I'm starting to feel optimistic again! It just feels like May just snuck up on us so fast. I actually am glad, since I'm beginning to feel more positive about things; I'm just sad since it means I'm older than I was a month ago!

Hard to believe April is over, and it is now May. Where is this yr. going, and with all the things going on in the Economy these days it is sometimes hard to keep focused on the Good for sure. I feel like I lost control sometimes of things I would have liked to accomplish in April, but I feel May is a month for good things if I make them happen for sure. We need to remember even when everything around us seems to be caving in, it is up to us from there what we decide to do to help change it. Wishing you the Best.

I like your positive outlook on life! Even if we have the best intentions, there are some things we can't help--like my having Multiple sclerosis. It only rears it's head once in a great while, but when it does, watch out! I'm still in a rebuilding phase from my last relapse in September, but it's only temporary.

I know from experience how difficult it is to live at one's in-laws. Why is it permanent? Can your spouse offer a valid reason for living with their parents permanently? I can understand if they need to care for them, but surely both of you would like to be on your own. As for the hot season, I'm afraid the only advice I can offer is to move, but it doesn't sound like an option at this time. Good luck and I hope the rains come soon!
