Scripture - John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you.I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."Before Jesus was crusified, He gave us a promise that He leave His peace with us. Jesus' idea of peace differs from the world's idea of peace. For the world, peace means no war, no crime, no problems, no personal struggles. Peace for the world means that all live in comfort without any fear or threat. This type of peace, as we are well aware of, is humanly impossible. The peace that Jesus gives is far greater than what we percieve as peace. He gives peace in the midst of transgression, war, crime, threat, personal struggles, etc. The peace that Jesus promised makes the believer say; "No matter what happens, I know that God is in control. Everything will be better, even not on earth then surely in heaven."The peace that Jesus gives gives us calmness and ease when the world is in panic. When things seem so confusing and even life threatening, we can know that God will protect us, not nesecaraly protect us from phycical harm but protect our souls for eternal life. That is wha the believer is seeking after all, eternal life in the precence of the Almighty. You are welcome to coment with your own devotion or thought on this Scripture but please, use your own work, not someone else's work. Say what God is laying on your heart. This is not my own thoughts but was laid upon my heart during quiet time with Bible reading and prayer. May you be blessed.
