Yesterday we had some bad weather pass through our local area. This storm was mostly high winds, and rain, very little lightning and thunder. These high winds knocked over this giant tree onto my cousin's house. This cousin is the grandmother of the baby that I babysit during the week. Thank God no one was at home doing this time. This is a picture a the big tree that fell on the house.

Tree Damage - A fallen tree that fell on the house
It is an old house and it is a tough house it really didn't do to much damage as far as we can tell now. Here is a picture of the trunk of the tree.

I'm glad you all were ok. I heard about some storms today on the news that left one football coach paralyzed when a microburst hit their practice area. It's definately scary weather right now during the spring. I hope all will recover from your storm and that none were harmed. Namaste-Anora

It sounds like there is a lot of that kind of damage happening this year. I am so glad that no one was home when that tree came down. We are having lots of wind episodes around here as well.

WOW! That's one big tree! I'm so glad to hear that no one was injured because of it! We've had some really nasty wind storms this past season but nothing like that came down near us. Some trees did fall, but nothing that large. My son lost some siding on his house because he lives in a very open and relatively new area. There are some trees to help block some wind, but they are very young and small trees. We've had one tornado touch down in town since we've moved here. I don't know how much damage it did, though. We live 8 miles outside of town. We just get a lot of tree limbs all over the place. I hope there wasn't too much damage to your cousin's house! Good thing it's made of brick!

They really can't tell how much damage was done to the roof until they get the tree off. It did not make entrance into the house so the damage is mostly to the roof top. Right now that is a much as they really can tell.
