This is me on dialysis. I have kidbey failure and have to sit like this three time a week for four hours. Have you ever seen someone on dialysis or know of people who is recieving this treatment. I realy do hate dialysis but I appreciate it. Because i have the priveledge of recieving treatment, I can live longer, an almost normal life. Look at the lines going into my arms where the blood comes through. They have to insert 2mm thick needles into my arm first before the line can be connected. Click on the picture and have a better look. Then look after your health, it is worth the effort to stay healthy

I have been on dialysis since May 2005, not becuase I did not take care of my self and not because I did not try to stay healthy, I don't smoke and I don't drink and did a little exercise and I watched what I ate, I was not diabetic. My kidney's failed because of Lupus, something I had no control over. My doctor tried what he could to prevent it from happening, but their was nothing that could be done, so I go to dialysis 3 times a week for 3 1/2 hours, I am so tired when I get home. I am on the transplant list, please everyone become a tissue/organ donor if you can, it is very important, it can save lives.

I feel so sorry for you too. I try to stay busy and try to stay healthy but there is only so much we can do without insurance right now. Best of luck to you in the future.

I haven't seen someone go through that treatment, but I know that it has saved millions of lives. I wish you all the best in your treatment. Here's hoping you never need more treatment in the future!

I've a relative who's also undergoing this kidney dialysis treatment. I can understand and imagine the pain although i can't really feel it. I know the pain and inconvenience doing this treatment where you have to do it 2-3 times per week, or even more if it's serious. Moreover, it costs a lot too. We'll have to really take care of our health before it's too late. Thanks for sharing, and wish you in good health always!

My mother who has congestive heart failure found out three weeks ago that she was had renal failure...too much fluid was building up in her body...her heart wasn't strong enough to push the urea out of her body through her kidneys. She now has been on dialysis for these past three weeks, and says she feels so much better. However, the treatment is rough for her. She too, has to go 3 times a week for 4 hours each...completely tiring her out. But, she says it beats the alternative. My prayers to you and your family...this is a hell of a fight for you...keep your mind strong. It already sounds like you have the attitude for dealing with your treatment.
