starting a dicussion

I have the problem in that I do a search for my topic and there is nothing there. I start a discussion on the topic and once posted.. there are a few similar topic discussion at the bottom of the page... why didn't these show in the search? I wouldn't have posted a new one. But I can't get many of my searches to come up with anything. Plus... maybe someone would know.... about posting the same discussion in multiple interest categories? I know the tags at the end to put them there, but the actual posting of the discussion..you only get one interest choice.... but there are multiple interests for the same thing.. just worded differently. For instance.... computers and internet interests. Well, what I am asking pertains to both and there will probably be different people in both interests and maybe some are in one interest but not the other and I want all the info I can get... so which do I post it to? So I post it in both interest groups. I don't do that often, just when I am searching for specific information ...like recently I asked the difference between 1mg and 3mg for internet connection and which I need etc (I know nothing about that!) and which does what. I posted it in both those interest groups... I got good responses from both groups - and didn't get the same person responding in both groups. All responses were unique mylotters. ANd all good information. If I had asked in only one, I wouldn't have gotten so much info and all posts were different and gave me alot of info to learn and make a decision. So...does that apply to the "new discussion" rule?

Hi momtry, If that was the exactly the same discussion and it was in diffrent interest, well that is wrong because someone has copied your discussion and put it somewhere else, it is against the guideline. Tamara

If the contents are same, then one discussion will be deleted on account of duplicate discussin and the deleted one will be the later one. May I can't understand your question!

No,you can't post same discussion hear but you can post same discussion with different way of presentation. If you want more information about posting something here on mylot then see the mylot help section and read DO& DON't.
