do laundry. He hasn't lived her in months. But he is coming to my home while I am out of town to do laundry. My huby never got the key back. I guess I should be grateful he called to let us know he was going to be in the house. I was so stunned I couldn't say no.

Are you serious? That is so not right I would not under no circumstances let someone in my home while I was gone if it wasn't close family and still not some of them even. I guess I don't have a high trust threshold. I think either he needs to give you the key or better yet...change the locks when you are able to.

Ditto! I'd have a real problem letting
a person into my house if I wasn't there.
Though there's always someone at the house,
so no problem there. And, I agree about the lock
change.

Lets just put it this way, I have a bother in law that lived with us for 6 years, till he moved out and married. He is my husbands older brother. But if he suddenly came back to do laundry and me or hubby not here I would be kinda mad. There are to many laundry mats around for a person to have to invade someone's home just to do laundry. I think if he is going to do it then he should only do it with your permission when you or hubby are home. You also need to get the key back or even change locks. When my brother in law moved out we changed locks..

That would get on my nerves. I hate to be put on the spot like that. I think it would happen this time but I would let them know that it not continue to happen because it is an inconvenience to you.

I would be pissed off. I would be getting that key back as soon as I got back into town. It would be different if you were going to have him come over and keep an eye on the dog or something and he asked if he could do laundry while he was there. That key thing would piss me off. Heck, I might not even ask for the key back. I would probably just change the locks.

It sounds like you are a bit upset that he still has a key and can get into your house. Im not sure if you are renting or if you own your house. Either way, if you dont like the fact that your ex roommate can get into your house, change the locks. If you rent, talk to your landlord about it. As long as your landlord has a key I doub that they would mind.
Good luck in resolving the situation!

If you guys are ok with it and aren't mad at each other than i don't see anything wrong with him coming over to do laundry at all. I don't think i would be irritated unless i didn't like the person anymore and maybe if they really bugged me than ok i would see that there was a problem then. I think everyone should just get along and live life as happy people, but we all know that doesn't exist.
