I have to listen to some music, especially when I'm surfing the web. Although the Web is a huge place to start with, when it comes to internet radio, there are some stations that are pleasant and refreshing to listen to. I like certain genres like Christian contemporary, adult alternative, and a bit of soft rock. I'm not the crazy loud, head banging kind of guy, but I believe in music that will get my foot tapping and my fingers snapping..
Me, I personally listen to Yahoo Radio, Klove and The Joy FM. It's hard to choose but I wish I could listen to all three stations simultaneously. I know I'm good with swapping books but with music stations, is something I've not heard of, yet.
So what stations do you plug into while surfing the net??

I belong to Jango.com. It's not a "real" station. You personalize "your own" stations. You can add whatever genre of music you like. You control the songs that are available to be played. If one comes up that you usually like but it doesn't suit you at the moment, you can skip it & go on to the next. You can have more than one station & decide which station you want to listen to. It takes a little bit of work to set up your station, but in the long run it's worth it!!! You can even go back & delete some songs from one of your stations or mark them as "never play". You have the option of visiting other people's stations that are similar to yours...or say you suddenly decide you want to listen to hard rock, you can locate somebody else hard rock station & listen to it without setting up your own. Except for the work of setting up your own station, I find it dayum near perfect!!! I have 5 or 6 station so I've got any mood I might be in covered!!!
This site is free which makes it ALL the better!!! You may want to try it to see if you like it. I keep it playing in the background while in myLot.

I was with Launchcast until they sold out to CBS. That's when I switched over to Jango. With Launchcast I listened to their prechosen music & marked if I liked it or not. With Jango, I build from scratch.I'm a HUGE Blues fan so I have one station that is totally Blues & Jazz. I enjoy Country so I have one that is strictly Country. I'm big on Classic Rock, so I have one station that has all those songs that takes me back to my youth. I have one that is Dexter Gordon which I am building now. I also have a Rod Stewart station which I'm building around now also. I have one station that is ALL females singing my most favorite songs. Each one of these I started at ground zero & built up from there. Occasionally Jango slides in a song that is in the same genre that I'm building. If I like I mark it positive. If I don't, I mark it as never play again. I enjoyed building the stations. My Dexter & Rod Stations I started with just their music. Now I'm letting Jango recommend compatible songs. Sometimes I look at others with similar interests. While listening to their station, I can add any song on their list to my station. I've found some great music this way!!!
I hope you enjoy your visit to Jango!!!

hi danben,
I find listening to music keep me away from the feeling of boredom once I am doing my online job in the internet. I have to do my online job for 9 hours. I start working from 5am in which so early to wake up. And everytime I will start my online job I feel so sleepy. So I decided to find a radio online in which I can listen to. It is shoutcast.com I am tuning in. There are also many categories I can choose from that. It's like those what you are stated on your post.I recently downloaded the winamp player for listening to the music on shoutcast.I love listening to love songs. When I feel so stress, I tune in to classical musics.Well, the station I am always tuning in in shoutcast is the heatwave radio station. They have the combination of filipino and english love songs. That is the reason I listen to that station most of the time.

The two free places I go , for music, online are Yahoo radio and www.playlist.com. I must say that Yahoo Radio offers quite the variety! I really enjoy using that site when I don't care what I listen to - I just pick the genre and go! If I'm in the mood to listen to certain songs then I usually go to playlist. I create a playlist or listen to one I have already created and GO! Love it.

I like Pandora as you customize it your listening pleasure, I think its a great site, and have been using it for the last year with out any problems. When you customize it you don't get all of the same thing as they try to find other music by different authors to suit your taste.

I used to use Yahoo radio a fair bit, but then I found Pandora. It's similar to yahoo's, except that it's much more customizable and builds songs according to all of the traits of the Music Genome Project. Basically, rather than just pulling songs from a similar genre, it will pull songs for a station that sound similar based on a ton of things from the genre to the tempo to the key tonality, etc.
I also have a couple friends who run a radio station online sometimes, and so I will listen to them, or I listen to an anime radio sometimes because Pandora doesnt have a very good Japanese music selection.
