Well, srmailtosr, It take sometime more than an hour to cook a meal. But it only take about 15 min to eat it. I think that is to fast. But again, in this time when time goes so fast and you have to have time to do all the tings that are required of you, then you do not have time to enjoy your meal...eat fast....and go on working...it´s like this. I work fulltime, mostly I work between 07 to 16 in one day. I have a short coffee brake about 10:00 but, if there is someone calling for me, I have to leave my brake and go to see why I am called for...(I am a assistance nurse). Then I have lunchbrake for 30 min, and in that time I have to eat my lunch and have some brake from the work....then I work again to 16:00. About time when I am home, I need some brake to catch up...before I can make dinner. And even then, it take just about 15 min to eat...and I wonder sometimes, do we enjoy our eatning enought....

i belong to a fast eater family. everything at home is fast and rigid. i am thankful we're not that fat because we exercise too. we don't eat a lot. it's just fast.there's a big difference between the two.

i can say that i eat faster,i am not satisfied everytime i eat slower, i think i cannot taste the food if i ate it slower, and i just made sure that there's water always available at my side. it doesn't mean to say that i'm greedy, i eat faster but in small amount only.

At home i am a fast eater as i like to get all the food mess cleaned up,however if i go to a friends and eat out i tend to be a slow eater. So for most people it would depend on what kind of a relaxed atmosphere it was.

I am trying to get into the habit of slower eating, to pay attention to what is in my mouth: the texture, the flavor, the entire experience of taking one bite, after one bite. I remember one time going into a restaurant for a breakfast sandwich (muffin, egg, bacon, and cheese). I got it to go because I was going to catch a bus. It came earlier than expected, and I just gulped it down almost like a pill, with the orange juice I got with it. That is no way to enjoy a breakfast. Or any meal. There is absolutely nothing wrong with eating slowly. I consider it a virtue, one that I have to struggle to acquire. There is more to life than just eating, but as long as it is necessary to live, there is nothing wrong in doing it virtuously. Am I saying that eating fast is immoral? Well, what is the life that requires you to just gulp down your food? Catching buses, going to work (or to school, or BOTH,) - there's a lot of pressure there, going after this and that. Heaven knows I lead that life a decade or so back. No, we are all just doing what we think needs to be done now. So now I say, there is also nothing wrong with eating quickly if the situation calls for it. But I hope those who do it on habit stop a while and think - are you really in a hurry now? Try taking one bite at a time, and paying attention to the gift you were given (or that you bought, or however it is acquired) - experience the sensations, from ALL your senses. There. Now how do you feel as you go to the next item of your itinerary?

I eat pretty fast. All my firends think that I do not enjoy food when I'm eating it fast, But I somehow enjoy it more when I'm eating fast and finish it fast. I have been told off for this habit of mine, but it's just the way I am. bourne

I'm a slower eater. I'll eat a little faster, when I am hungry, but I think that, in the end, I'm still a slow eater. I eat a lot more slowly than other people, in my opinion.

I would like to eat slowly and enjoy my food. However, these days are so hot; especially after cooking, I just can't sit down to eat, feeling so hot and sweaty. So I would eat quickly, and rush up to take a shower.

I am a fast eater.I like to eat my food with the same warmth from the beginning to the end. So,I always take my food really fast. But I like to have it slow in a get together with friends where we use to chat and laugh a lot.And the gathering is not meant for eating. The priority is for being together.Cheers!

Hello srmailtosr, I am a slow eater. I have never been able to speed up when it comes to eating. When I was little I was told by my mother to eat slow snd chew the food completely, about 25 times. I still do this and I am always the last one at the table. I think it sometimes irritates family members but they know I should be the first served because I'm always the last one done.

Eating slowly is better for you and your digestion. Saying that, I am a fast eater. I got into this bad habit when I was in high school and only had one 20 minute break for lunch during the day. I would run to the cafeteria, grab some lunch, and eat as fast as I could, so I could run to my next class. Now, I eat quickly without even thinking about it, and then when I'm done and feel like my stomach is going to explode, I am upset with myself for eating so quickly when now, I actually do have time to eat at a more relaxed pace.

When I was teenage, my family was really interesting. My mother was a fast eater, my dad was medium-speed eater and I were a slow eater. Every time we had dinner together, my mom finished eating in 5 minutes, after 20 or 30 minutes, my father left table, and I went on eating for another 20 or 30 minutes. But after I go to college and need to have meal in dining hall, I eat much faster so I can catch up with my friends. Actually, I do not consider slow eating as a bad habit. It is good for digestion and having food is a kind of life's enjoyment. But you can not be too slow like more than one hour because that will become a waste of time.
