I've been a Live Journal member since April 2005. I joined it back then mainly because a girl I know was (and still is) a LJ user. She mentioned one day how she had written an entry about one of our professors and I had asked could I read it. She mentioned it was friend's only so I would have to join and give her my ID so she could add me. So I ended up joining the site. And honestly, that was the only reason I joined Live Journal and believe it or not, I had no intention on ever updating my Live Journal. I guess mainly because I had a blog on Diary Land. Does anyone else here use Live Journal besides me? How long have you been a member and why did you join it?

I have been a LiveJournal user since 2001, and I actually have had a paid journal for the last few years for the extra features. My journal is friends-only as well, since it's my main blog, and I write personal things in it. I use it with friends that I have met both online and offline. I initially joined because some people on a YahooGroup I was part of were all getting LJs, and I never left! Most of the people that I know from that time are also still blogging there, too.

I do have an LJ. I havent used it in probably a year! When I was in college, several of my friends were blogging. They convinced me to get an LJ. I used it some, but never much. I never wrote anything important on it. The same friends also convinced me to get a Xanga a few months later. I did the same thing with the Xanga for a long time. Last year, though, I started to use it a lot. I update it constantly. I have met several great people through it. I never really intended to do anything with either of my blogs. I signed up so that I could comment on other people's blogs! Its amazing how it goes from something that you wont use to something that you use everyday. Even if it did take 5 years!
