Yes, there is a website where you can find a free place to stay and where you can get in touch with people who are looking for a place to stay in your city/country. The website is called Couchsurfing. I didn't use the site myself, but I think it is a great idea. In the past I had many penfriends from other countries and I have visited some of them and stayed in their homes. Some of my penfriends also visited me and stayed in my home, and I think it is great way to make new friends and to vsit a new country without spending a lot of money.

thanks a lot. i find couchsurfing a wonderful great website. when we have no internet, we founded worldwild friendship through penfriend. now we have internet, this friendship has been more easy. it's a nature that we want to make distant friends besides neighbourhood friends. this excites us much.

I'd like to, but I can't afford it right now. I have a pen pal in California, we contacted for about half a year. I think I will go there some day. Haha!
