Getting best response

I was so excited when I received my first best response as I was still new to myLot and hadn't participated in many discussions. Just now I was going through my unresolved discussions and wishing that I could acknowledge more than one person because there were at least three responses in one in particular that could qualify as a best response. Do you ever find it hard to choose a best response?

No, is not hard, i like an answer, i ll give the best response, is easy. Of course that i will wait few days, i don t want give the best response after few hours, is not corect for who want to answer after a day. I always, read all answers, and after i will give the best response, never give just because i must to do this

I do feel too that at times there is no one best response. There are two or three good responses and at times even more. It is difficult to choose. I just read them again, just see how it feels and then shut my eyes, decide and give the best response without thinking more.

Congrats...for earning your best response. I am always thrilled when I get a best response as I feel my efforts are recognized. But I am always troubled when it comes to my giving out my best response as they seems to have more then one good response.

Sometimes I just go with the first one that is good and choose that as the best when there is more than one.

Very hard. If you can anyhow enter my profile page using my id & password, then you can see that I have more than 20 unresolved discussions. Most of them are those where I couldn't find any response to be touchy enough and some of them are having more than one as a BR. I think I will hve to devote my 2 or 3 days to clear my unresolved discussions.

It really is nice to get one no matter how many times you have received one before.

Before I award the best response mark, I usually wait for a month to let all comments to come in. After a month or so, I choose amonng the replies and decide which I think deserves the mark. There are times that I can't choose because either they are nonsense or were not the one I was waiting to hear as reply to my topic. But I still award the best response mark just the same.

I have waited on some of mine and with some I have chosen if the discussion fizzles out.

I always find giving best responses a tough thing to do because there are normally a couple of responses that are just very good and deserve a best response; but unfortunately the best response can only be given to one person. What I normally do in such a situation is to give the best response to the person with the response which I think is most relevant and significant to me, and on the other hand rating the other good responses by the others as positive as well as leaving a comment acknowledging their valuable contribution to my discussion and letting them know that their response were "heavily considered" for the best response, which I unfortunately can only give to one person. I don't think any myLot member will hold a grudge against a discussion-starter for not giving them best response!

When it is difficult I try to look at something that makes the response stand out.

Hi Canellita, yes i too got excited when i got my first best response here and now that i got quite a few best response , i have got some boost to my confidence that some people have liked my responses. I often is confused who to give best response from my discussions especially when the discussion gets over 25 replies and there are quite a few which are equally good. May be i should toss a coin when i can not decide. But when i get two or three replies to my discussion then it is easy .

I totally understand what you mean. When I first joined mylot, I kept responding and didn't expect for the best response since I thought there were some critieria that I would have needed to reach for responding, so when I get the first one even later til now, I'm still happy to get it now :-D And I agree that it is hard to choose a best response since there are always couple good responses in one discussion, it is tough!!!

If I get the answer then I will reward it or wait until a few month. Even it's not easy, I must select which one I want to pick. I have to read all post, and compare every comments. And all comments is good, I'm decide to not choose until I know who is use the best opinion.

If I wait too long I find it even harder to choose and to compare the answers.

Yes, specially if the respondents were only two or three so i have to wait for more than a week and see if it added more people to respond. If the question wasn't resolved yet, i could still wait for more to come. I don't mind to keep on waiting till i see someone who really deserves the best answer to the said discussion. Some say that one week is enough to wait, but since some of my topics aren't answered that easily specially if i am asking something they don't know, then i really have to leave the topic open and wait to rate who is the best. I guess you must have been happy to receive the BR to other members whom you helped here on Mylot. I feel the same way too, but i hope that when i get to post my queries, i'd be getting people who will be rewarded also because of what they have contributed.

Yes, I find it sometimes hard to select a best response in discussions where the responses are very clearly stated and are to the point. But under such circumstances, I wait for some more responses to fill in and then go for a best responses. And if there are no more responses like to receive, then I would comment to the responses provided by them and the one who provides proper conversation is awarded a best responses!!

Congratulations! That's so nice to hear that finally you got the best response. Keep on posting and you will find it interesting in Mylot. When my discussions receive many responses, I have to say that it's not easy to choose the best response. I have to review all the responses again. But in fact sometimes I will write down some special comments to some good responses. And I will choose which one is the best at last. I love China

I used to forget to go back and choose. Now I try to do it often enough so that they don't pile up.

I often find it very hard to choose a best response! Sometimes there are so many people who have been so detailed in what they have said and have obviously spent a long time on their answers. I just sometimes have to choose a random one out of the few that I really like because I can't honestly decide which one is better than all the rest!

First, thanks for mentioning the unresolved discussions. I had been wondering what that was. Now I know!! I feel the same way about picking a best response! Sometimes there are several people who deserve it. It does make it hard to choose! I have had several best responses. I stil get quite excited when I see that I have another! I dont think that will ever get old for me. I love being able to help out other people. To me, getting the 'best response' means that I really was being helpful!
