This shot shows a couple of the transplanted plants that have started to bloom. Now, is it true that I need to thin and or cull out plants that are 3 years old as they will not bear fruit anymore? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I am not one to ask about culling out old plants since I am not the one with the green thumb. I just like to see things growing and blooming.

They are beautiful. I don't know anything about what you want to know, but I know whatever you did, you did a nice job!

I am not at the picture yet, but I am assuming that you are talking about strawberries. I never did thin mine out, but they did not always produce well either. Some methods I heard about were to run the tiller down the rows of older plants once the new ones were established.

That's what I thought I had read somewhere was to run the feeders from the first plants out then remove them once the new plant started to bloom. Thanks. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I have no idea about thinning out the plants or how old they are when they stop producing fruits. The transplanted plants are starting to look nice though.

Looking neat and lovely - it'll be nice when spring rolls around here again - I always enjoy getting back into the garden and getting things tidied up.
