Staying up and Sleeping in

United States

I finished school last Friday after taking a final exam. This Thursday, day after tomorrow, I start my summer research project. So just for tonight, I want to stay up late so that I can sleep in tomorrow! I know that sounds kind of dumb to some people, but if I go to bed at a regular time, then I won't be able to sleep late in the morning. I haven't been able to sleep in since Christmas, and I just want to be able to say that I slept late one morning this summer! What about you, do you enjoy sleeping late occasionally?

I do actually enjoy sleeping in occasionally. When there is a rare Saturday that we don't have too much going on, we will turn off the alarm and just sleep until we feel like getting up. Hope you did get to sleep late.

I did get to sleep late and it was delicious! I woke up about 9:30 and just stretched like a lazy cat, which caused my daughter to laugh. She ended up crawling up on the bed with me and we watched a movie on HBO that we'd both been wanting to see. I made a pot of coffee and we lazed in our pajamas until noon!

That sounds like fun. My kids last day of school is tomorrow, so I won't have to be getting up as early now.

Three more days until the Thanksgiving break. My daughter has classes tomorrow (well actually today) and then she's done. They do not have classes on Wednesday, and she doesn't go to school on Tuesday's so she's excited. Unfortunately, three of her teachers chose to give tests on Monday, I suspect to keep kids from skipping class!

I shut off my alarm this morning, then slept in . . . until 6:30 a.m. I am afraid that is all I am good for, unless I am sick. I did stay up late the last two nights. 5:30 is when I usually get up. I have a hard time resisting MyLot. I actually have some freelance work I have to do, then I am going to work at 3:00 today.

I know the feeling about mylot. I'm supposed to be doing reading for my summer research project. I did start reading, but after reading the same sentences three times, and it still not making any sense, I just gave up and now I'm trying to catch up on e-mails. Mylot and Gather are both so far behind it may never get caught up.
