Do you have a garden or plan to have a garden this year? I got my ground tilled up already for my garden. I want to can stuff this year. I think gardens help so you don't have to spend so much money at the store for your veggies and fruits.

we got our garden in this past weekend, I just love gardening, and can not wait for it all to start growing. I also can a lot of it to help save during the year.

Canning stuff does help a lot through the year. I use to get tomatoes from my grandmas garden all the time when I was younger. Loved her tomatoes.

Yes tomatoes are good ....We put in 45 tomato plants this year we put some regular ones, yellow ones, roma's, and some cherry tomatoes. I like to can some salsa, and some tomato sauce. and some juice. we put in different varieties so we have all the different flavors.

I tilled up half the backyard last year so I could put a nice garden back there. This year it has sprung nicely, now I just have to get some fillers. Mine is mostly just a flower garden with the end set for veggies. Last year we grew tomatoes and sweet banana peppers. The kids sold the veggies at the end of the driveway for extra money for themselves. They were sooo proud!

I like flower gardens. Fresh veggies sell well. I bet they liked a little extra spending money. That is always nice.

Gardening has become a great hobby for my wife and I. We started a little bit of gardening last year, mostly flowers but a few veggies. This year I have started two square foot gardens, each four foot square. I just started digging them this week. I also have 4 blogs dealing with gardening and cooking. Two are getting established and have been up and running for a year or so, the others, a recipe blog and a vegetable garden blog, they are both brand new and will take a few more months to get on the search engine radar. The topic gardening has become a big part of our lives even though we are still pretty green. (That was suppose to be a little funny)

LOL. My grandmother amazed me when she grew her gardens. She had one half the size of a football field and took care of it on her hands and knees. And she still caned her stuff. To me she had a lot of energy to do all that. Know one else but me and my uncle garden now and I love to garden.

Yes...strawberrybaby39....90% of my garden is in, and most of it growing merrily along! The only thing that I have left to get in is cucumbers & squash, and some herbs such as Basil & Dill! You have great energy if you are going to can things, I truly respect you for that...I take the easy way out and freeze everything, as a few years ago, I bought a "Food Saver" that vacuums and seals the Food, so it lasts much longer, and does not get freezer burnt! Cheers!

I have basil and dill and chamomile growing nicely. I am a little behind getting everything into the ground. When I finally bought a house a month ago and trying to get everything in order and unpacked and flowers in the ground and garden done its a handful. My grandma taught me how to can before she passed away a year and a half ago. She had the biggest garden I ever seen anyone grow and take care of on hands and knees. Then can her stuff and make jellies. I love her blackberry jelly.
