I have to get my fingerprints archived to do my student teaching and that requires a money order, I asked it's only payable by money order. Where do you get one? The bank? How much does the money order itself cost? Thanks.

The first place I would check for a money order is your bank. Sometimes they will give you one for free! If not, the cheapest place is usually the post office or grocery store. Most places that do western union, also do money orders. Before you go somewhere to get one, I would call. I used to work at a bank and they charged $4 for a money order! The grocery store in the same shopping center charged less than a dollar. No need to spend money you dont have to!

You can get a money order at any bank, post office, or check cashing place. Some pawn shops have check cashing services as well. There are also convenience stores that sell money orders. The last time I got a money order it was about 59 cents.
