Most of us read newspaper, isn't it. But do you read newspaper every day? I know some people who do not leave their bed without reading the headlines in the morning. Do you read newspaper in detail or just take a look of the top headlines. How do you feel if you do not get newspaper for one day. Will it effect your day or you will not feel any difference?

I used to love to read the newspaper, especially the Sunday editions, nearly cover to cover. Now, though, I get most of my news via the internet, including news from the major papers. You've made me miss the "real deal" though, so I think I'll pick up a paper this Sunday. : )

The Sunday paper has special little magazine inserts and lots of coupons, which help save on groceries. And it has a larger comics section...lots of human interest stories, etc. So yes, I even love the way the newsprint smells!

Wow cover to cover reading? Is there anything special in the Sunday edition or you only get time on Sunday to read the news paper?

Now that's a interesting reply. I am happy to see that you have the guts to admit it. When you grow older you will see it is important to keep information about the latest happenings in the world. This will effect your daily life. But till then keep reading the movie page.

I don't get a chance to read the newspaper everyday, but I do try to read it on a weekly basis. I like to inform myself with what is going on in the world, in my country, and in my region, even though I can't really do it on a daily basis. I do it nevertheless.

I agree with you. It is very important that we keep ourselves updated with the latest happening of the world, country and locality. It helps us taking proper decisions in life and we can also take part in different discussions with other people.

We did read the newspaper each day, usually at breakfast, but with the internet and all the TV news we just don't read it so we no longer buy it.

That's a wise decision. I think we all want to know the news and it does not matters that from where we come to know about it. It is much easier to watch the news than reading news paper. There are so many news channel available so we can also know different views on one topic.

I read the free ones at the station. Sometimes I write the url of my blog on them and then I am happy to see people wondering: WTF is this... :) Reading newspapers does have effect on my day as I really check whether the predictions of the astrology section will come true. :) I read it very quickly without reading the articles mostly...

So does the predictions of the astrology section matches in your case. I think they are not worthy. They say some thing and we face something different. Do you have any special story regarding that.

I use to read the paper where I am from because I felt like I knew what was going on but now I live in Miami and there are just too many different parts so I don't feel like I am as connected. Every now and then I might log onto the local news station and see what is going on but as far as reading the paper nope.

It does not matters whether you read the newspaper or not until you are getting the news update. Isn't it? I thing the news is important not the medium. What do you say?

I could not get you. Why you could not get newspaper every day? Are you living in some remote place where news paper is not available? If you do not get a printed news paper then you can check out e-newspaper. It is same as the printed newspaper, just the online copy.

Yes, I read my newspaper everyday. I don't read the whole paper, though. I just kind of skim through it and read the more interesting stories. For a while, I quit taking my local paper because I was trying to cut back on so many bills. I really missed it, though. It was the only way I kept up with the deaths. This must be a sign that I'm getting older, lol. As I'm sure you already know, the older you get the more people you know are dying. I also like to read Dear Abby. Sometimes I agree with her advice and sometimes I don't. I also like to do the crossword puzzle, even though I'm not very good at it. Sometimes they're easy and sometimes they're not. Kathy.

I know what you mean about being able to put one or two words together. Like I said, sometimes crosswords are easy and sometimes they're not. Used to whenever I would come across a word I've never heard of, I would look it up in the dictionary. Sometimes that would help. My dictionary got worn out from over use so I finally threw it away. The cover got to where it would fall off all the time. I tried taping it together but that didn't work very well. Now, I just look up words on the online dictionary. Kathy.

Solving crossword puzzle is a very good habit. It increases stock of words and its also fun. But some times it becomes very tough to find one two words. And at that point it becomes frustrating.

Yes you are right. Now a days there are so many alternatives of the newspaper available. For example news update from TV, online web sites again online version of the newspaper i.e e-newspaper etc. I think now a days it does not matter if one day news paper does not come.

Yes I read newspapers everyday specially the sports section but sometimes I forget to read when I am too busy in the morning and missed the opportunity in the morning. I don't read the full details only the headlines of other sections except sports.I read every single line of the sports page.

I have seen that most of the people from young generation is only interested in sports page. They are not really into the politics and they don't even link that. Apart from sport page I love to see the technology page. I love cool new gadgets updates.

There is really lots to know about the things that happen all around the world. I must do it to increase my General Knowledge. Yet, It does not make any difference to me with no newspaper one morning!!

I will say that it is a good habit to read newspaper everyday because it let you have a fell of what has happened. It is not that you can't get those information from online sources. It is just the newspaper can provide more than that. For instance, something happening in the other side of the world may be available from the newspaper but not that easily readily available from your favorite online sources.

My family & I prefer to get updated news from TV news channel & website, so I don't rely too much on newspaper. But a newspaper is the first thing that I look for every time I go to a library. I will be engrossed in reading it while I find it. :)

I read newspaper everyday, once in the morning before I leave for work, and once in the evening after dinner. I tend to read it in detail on every section of the paper, so that I can have a clear understanding of the story and what is happening in the town and the world. There are weekly features/reviews on a nature photography and audio-visual equipment which I will cut out and scan into my PC. Sometimes I'll look at how the articles are written to improve my writing skill. Sometimes I'll take part in the lucky draws in the newspapers.

For me i used to read newspaper daily last time during my secondary school years. At that time i make it a habit to read all the news in the newspaper daily, but i just read the titles of the news only. I only read into details when i see the topics which i have interest in or it's the hot topic of the day. However, i do not read newspaper so often nowadays. One of the reason is because we've stopped to subscribe newspaper daily nowadays. Mostly I read news online whenever i'm free. The other reason i didn't read news daily is because i've started to get busy after working and do not always have enough time to read news daily. So, i'll just focus on the important ones and get to know it so that i can still be updated with the current affairs happening in our country.
