I'm planning to buy a laptop soon but I have no idea what is the best brand. Do you know any? Can I get a feedback from you on your experience with laptop that you used? And for programmers what specs do you prefer and why? What specs is good for a programmer but cheaper in price? Do you buy it brand you or do you assemble it? What is your favorite and what do you think is the best? Thanks a lot for those who response.

I have always gone with gateway. Gateway is very reliable service, and if something breaks, it will be fixed no doubt. Acer is now gateway, so if I were you, I would go ahead and take a look at some Acer laptops so you can see if there is one that you would like. Currently I have 3 gateway laptops in my house, and 1 Acer, which was bought at the time gateway way taken over, and we have good service so far, and the computers are lasting a long time. But the choice is obviously yours, I cannot make it for you, but as I said, if I were you, which I'm not, I would go for anything left of gateway, or Acer. But make sure you look at other laptops like HP too, because my friend has HP and he loves his laptop. He bought a special edition laptop, with a good graphics card, and 4 gigabytes of ram, so he's more than happy. Definitely check out either gateway, acer, or hp, or all three. You won't regret those three choices.

Where did you buy your laptop? Is it online or you have it there in a mall? I also think acer is cool. Thanks for the response!

oh, i bought the laptop at a best buy in the U.S. i dont know where you are, but you could probably find one in any computer store you look in. i think you can buy online too if you cant find one in any store you look in, but you might have to pay delivery fees. i am not completely sure.

My first laptop I have had is a HP DV9000. Given me many problems in the past, but still usable. For programming I would recommend a MacBook. I heard some programming courses I will be taking require a Mac. Also, you can run windows on it without compatibility issues. Other than a MacBook, I would recommend a ASUS or Sony. ASUS laptops I have seen at a good price and very good specs.

till now i haven't purchased a laptop because i like desktop. But in my opinion lenova and sony laptops are best and at best rate. I think you should buy only brand laptop because assembled laptops or desktops are not fit and don't have any warrenty. So branded laptops are best. cheap laptops are worest. So spend some extra money and buy a costlier laptop because you will get a 2-3 years warrenty and with high configuration. Again with this i recommand you install a kaspersky or norton antivirus when you purchase your computer.

I was a programmer before, I use the HP Pavilion T series (latest models) for my use for programming. I love the speed and the space of ram memory and hard disk... It works like a PC desktop. Nothing has a problem with it... That's my experience. You can opt to try the DELL laptop where my friends are using too for programming ...Hope it helps.

You were a programmer before? What do you do know? Didnt you like being a programmer? Can you share me some of your experiences as a programmer if you dont mind. Coz I'm planning to take short course of some programming language. But my brother says that its hard to study it. I think they dont want me pursue it. I graduated comp engg but I didnt learn much. hehe. Coz we deal with comp hardware and Im not really interested. We studied some programming languages. Before I dont like programming but now I think I'm interested to learn it specialy web programming.
