socomsargent thank you very much. once you are rich, that is a good idea. but if you learn yourself you can get rich with the guitar at no cost to you. if i were you, i would not use a book, i would use videos from youtube or something. i find visuals really help with this...

socomsargent you should keep trying. like i said before, play for about a week and your fingers will harden a bit, and the stings wont hurt you, and they will stretch a bit. also try and grasp it better with your thumb completely on the back of the neck of the guitar.

socomsargent yes that is just like me. i most definitely prefer acoustic over electric guitars. plus, electric guitars need an amp, and that is just something extra that you need to buy.
