How often do you wash your bed comforters or blankets?

Since we got a washer/dryer in the house, I like to do my comforters at least once a week. My only complaint is that it takes forever to dry the comforters in the dryer. Have thought about putting up a clothes line for those. How often do you wash your bed comforters/covers? Do you use the dryer for drying them or just hang outside on the clothes line?

I used to do mine like once a week, then I got lazy and had jobs / I just didn't do it. Now though we wash them about every two weeks. I have a feeling that when we have our own place I might wash it once a week or every two weeks depending on how often we are actually in the bed versus laying on the couch!

Couch livin'! Now, that's the good life. I use my couch for everything. Right now, I'm lounging on the couch and posting. So much more comfortable than my old recliner, which I had to leave in the other house when we moved here. Kind of nice getting to lay down and type. So much easier on the body.

I wish we had a laptop. We used to but it broke. We heard a commercial going home the other day about freelaptops, it ended up being one of those offer things. We're just not into those. I couldn't get comfortable except for in a recliner or chair, laying back was too much of a strain on my neck. I'd love to be able to get a laptop though right now that's not our priority.

Buying a place of our own was the big priority for us. After we did that, it really freed up some extra money for little things that most people already take for granted. We're paying just lot rent now and that's five hundred dollars less than our previous rent. Hopefully that will put us back on the path to financial solvency soon. I'll keep my eyes open for laptop deals and pass along links if I find them. Sometimes, the Walmart has laptops for less than three hundred dollars at Christmas time.

pretty often.they're usually loaded up with cat fur from them sleeping on it, so i make sure they're clean both for them and me. ..plus sometimes the inevitable hairball happens,and..washed again i use the dryer.we have evil birds around here.

My cats 'deposit' their hair ball back onto my blankets on a regular basis.

You are washing your comforter and blankets a bit too much beautyqueen. I don't wash mine but once a month and at the beginning of the month so I'll know when they need doing. I used to wash them once every two weeks but they seem to wear out and fade faster when washed that often so now I do it once a month. I don't dry them in the dryer because it also causes them to fade. I'll use a couple of the clothes hangers made of wood from walmart to hang wet clothes and turn on the ceiling fan to dry them quicker. After about an hour or so, I'll turn it over so it'll dry on that side too OR I'll hang them over the clothes line, inside facing out so the sun won't fade the top part of it and when I hang them on the clothes line, I hang them over two lines so that the air gets to both sides and dries it.

We just moved in about a month ago, so guess I'm still in the spring cleaning mode. Nothing ever seems clean enough for me. I'm sure the novelty of owning a washing machine will wear off soon.

Not nearly as often as I should since I have to go down two flights of stairs to do any wash, but I'm more concerned with what I actually sleep on rather than what covers the top.

Keeping the sheets clean is another one of my priorities. It all goes in the wash. Sometimes, I just get the laundry bug and have to wash everything.

It depends on how much other laundry I have to do. If I get all my other laundry done, and there is still time I will wash the comforters and sheets and everything It does not happen every week. Probably every two to three weeks. I love the smell of freshly washed bedding.

I like clean sheets, so I wash them at least once every two weeks, if not every week. My comforter has to be taken to the dry cleaners because my washing machine is too small for it, so that doesn't get washed as often. Since I have a cat, I use the brush attachment for my vacuum on the top. Weird, but it takes any cat fur right off!

Cat fur is a big deal for me too. Most times, it makes my skin feel really itchy. Some days I can't stand living in my own skin when my cats are shedding. Will try that vacuum attachment idea. Might save me some laundry work! Thanks.

I don't have a dryer because I prefer the smell and the softness of all my laundry when it's been hung outside. I have a double clothes line where I hang everything out including my bed covers. They smell lovely when I bring them in out of the fresh air. Brightest Blessings.

Hello beautyqueen26, I wash them every week and if I get lazy, maybe twice a month! Most of the time I will send the comforters to laundry shop and for the bedsheets, I wash them at home and let them dry on the clothes line.

I usually wash them about once a week in the summertime. I might slack a little bit in the winter time and let them go 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. It really depends on how much my kids are sweating at night.

I normally dry them in the dryer. It does take forever for some blankets to dry though. As much as I hate the laundromat sometimes it seems like a better option for bedding.

Not very often, they are pretty big and bulky. When I do wash them I like to take them to the laundry where they have those great big washer and dryers. Most of the time I will bring them home and line dry them if they are partially dry. My washer and dryer is to small for them.
