I been through so much my parents leaving each other and me moving a lot as a child. Which lead into me having to repeat two grades. Well yeah I'm just not going to get my diploma. I get my GED. I don't want to graduate when I'm 20 years old. Yes I want to go to college but, In the end I will have to wait such a long time.
My teachers want me to stay and graduate because they tell me I'm a very smart person that I'm better off getting a Diploma. Yes I was thinking about other schools like Night school and etc. but I called and they told me something I didn't want to hear or was able to help. So I just decided yeah I'm just going to get my GEd instead.
Yes it will be hard for me to get into a university, but I will have to attend a college but I would work my way upward. I willing to go through it all. If my teachers say I'm smart the way they say I am then Knowledge will get you places. Just takes a big step and a lot of faith and hope. Believing that in the end I will become successful person in life.
Yes people might think what Im doing is stupid but there are people out there who became Judges, lawyers, own there own business, and etc. and never got there diploma but there GED.
Why can't I...
Do you think I'm doing the right thing..?
What's your Opinion?

I don't think there is as much stigma to it as there used to be. Just hurry up and do it as soon as you can and then take some basic courses in a junior college and you can then transfer to a four year university.Once you have some actual college credits (and decent grades in them ) to show-- the type of high school education is less noticable.
I think people are beginning to understand that the skills it takes to get through high school are not necessarily the same skills it takes to get through life. High school is just like a prison to some people (lots of boys for example) and yet there really is no time in your life when things have to be that restrictive for you again. When you take college course you are not in class as many hours a week and that makes it easier in some respects. Also if you have a teacher you don't like you can easily drop a course, etc.

You said a lot of people go on to do good things after getting their GEDS, while that is true it is much harder to go further in life and/or your education with a GED. A study showed while they are supposed to be of the same value, people with just GEDs make less than someone with just a dipolma. I think you're better off sticking it out and getting a dipolma.
If you must get a GED, you'd have to go to a community college and then transfer to a four year college/university. Just be careful. Your credits from community college will not all transfer and depending on the quality, or sadly status, of the community college you pick, a lot of your credits may not transer. So, instead of doing two and two, or four. You may end doing four and a half to five years of school to get a simple BA. If you plan on only getting an Assiociates, which doesn't seem the case but you will get one as you'll have to go the route of community college, those do not open many doors. Assiociates are not highly viewed. So, you're route would be community college, 2-3 year college/university, and grad school (if you chose to get an MA or higher).

I dont think there is anything wrong with having a GED. My brother-in-law got his GED about a year and a half ago. He was 19 at the time. (He dropped out of school at 16.)
I do think that getting a high school diploma will be much more helpful if you want to go to college now. Colleges will accept sudents that have GED's, but they will see how young you are and wonder why you didnt just finish school and get a diploma!
Ultimately, you have to decide what is right for you. I agree with your teachers that you should get your diploma, though.
