Why can't things remain the way they are.. ?

We grow out of things as we get older and should be ready to accept change. But somethings seem odd and difficult to let go and easily accept. This came to my mind after reading the news about Archie proposing to Veronica after 68 years of Archie comics.. Did they really have to make him decide.. What if Jughead no longer remains the hamburger loving, stay away for from girl cool dude ? Why can't things remain the same ? What changes would you not like to see in your favorite comic characters ? Superman with a paunch..? Phantom on wheels ?

I hate changes in certain categories and values. People have a wrong notion that every one needs a change in everything. They need to live in that short moment of after creating a sensation. I personally think that it is like killing your own child which you nurtured for such a long time giving it a particular character which has been identified and approved by the whole world. You just cannot violate anything with a property even if you are the creator after that property becomes public. This is absolutely insane and killing the very essence of our childhood memories. At this rate we won't be having anything to cling on as nostalgia. The only thing comparable to this ghastly act is remixing the oldies. Atrocious.

He proposed after 68 years??? Goodness me, I hope to God that they don't leak a videotape of the wedding night then, It'll look like two prunes being rubbed together! I would have thought that Jughead would be in a convalescent home suffering from Type 2 diabetes by now too. Chuck Norris in a wheelchair would probably break my heart I think; and I'd be devastated if I had to see Wonder Woman flying past in her invisible plane and could clearly see her incontinence pants! The Hulk getting therapy and then looking to talk out all his problems with everyone rather than going through the agressive change would be a bit of a downer too. lol.

Chuck Norris in a wheel chair.. What about the idea of taking up to non violent means..? Hulk had better stay the way he is James. I would not be able to imagine him in any other way at all.

Come to think of it James, If you could be portrayed in a comic series what image would you like to see of yourself ?

I hope Hulk stays the same way too. Going from angry and green, to tickled pink instead just doesn't hold the same appeal. All we can hope for is that he stays as far away from a Psychologist as possible!

The fun in the comics was on the guessing part. I suppose there still may be some suspense behind the whole thing after all. Thanks

They can if only we can. But we change and THEY change... Archie, the cult most eligible(?) bachelor is getting married? Don't tell me! Although, Betty is my choice, the super rich gal is more than her riches. I like her a lot but still Archie tying know and breaking the entire girls' hears is just not done! And how will Betty react? Leave Betty, how would the fans react? Change is good and better changes are accepted but not this one!

Exactly Mimpi, They went about 68 years in keeping this triangle, which made for the spice and interest in the comics. Could they not wait another 32 ? I'd probably be too old for it to matter then..

Yes you would probably get old and I would die...that would have saved us from this!

Die?? Not possible.. In 32 years time, I would not mind what ever happens to this comical characters. Imagine narrating the Archie comic stories to kids not having hear about them. Rather than me now wondering what if he decided to marry Betty instead of Veronica? What would have happened then ?

LOL... I thought when I read the title of this post that you are talking about your life experiences where you wished it could still be the same. Turns out that it's a bout a comic. Well, sometimes I wished some of the movies and stories turns out some other way than the author intended but then again, I am not the author.^^
