In this day and age when everyone is thinking green and tryng to get away from cleaning the house with so many unknown chemicals, did you know that vinegar is a great alternative to many things. For one thing it is non toxic to humans and pets. I personally use it once a month to clean out my coffee pot. I run the vinegar thru the machine and then a few cycles of just fresh water. Your coffee pot and the well is now fresh and clean! I also use vinegar with some baking soda mixed together to clean the bathtub. The shone that comes from this is amazing! Have you ever had that morning dew on your wondows that no matter how many times you spray the windshield with the washer it keeps coming back, well try this, clean your car windows with a mix of water and vinegar and this problem is solved! How about all you MyLotters out there, do you use vinegar for a cleanser ina any way????

Vinegar is a good tools to be used for cleaning purpose. At the same time there are a lot of people will take as drink. It becomes a healthy drink for the people. It may be a healthy drink for a small amount and long period, but taking it everyday it's not a good idea. That's the advice from some professional. You remind me about the usage od vinegar, thank you! I will try to use next time if there's some dirt I'm unable to clean it.

other than it being a seasoning is many chinese food, vinegar has many other uses and benefits. my friend drinks apple cider vinegar to cure his acne problem and i heard it helps to lose weight as well. when i have constipation, i always take a banana and blend it in milk and some ice cubes. thereafter, ill add 2 teaspoons of pineapple vinegar to the blend. it helps in digestion so much and helps to lose weight too.

I use vinegar for practically everything! Because of the acid content, it is really great for anything sticky! Your kids put stickers all over the wood table? vinegar works wonders! Wallpaper not coming off? Try some vinegar! Baking soda and vinegar is also a great once per month drain cleanser. Prevent clogged drains before they happen without all of that terrible, toxic stuff from the stores! I also love just how cheap vinegar is! Using it saves me tons of money on my cleaning. One of those things that our grandmothers used, but most people have forgotten about.

derilaStern . .thanks for your addition to this I forgot all about using it for the drains! I always put the coffee grinds down my drain but once a month vinegar is a smart thing to do! So many things our grandmothers lived with out that we spend way too much money on when there is a cheaper and more earth friendly way to go!

I use vinegar, alchol, and water a third of each. I put it into a spray bottle and use it on everything and I like it because it dries fast.

I'm sorry I guess I should of been more specific I use it on my stainless steel appliances my floors, windows, sinks, walls, any small appliance, cleaning toliets, sinks, cleaning toys, cleaning the car, patio funiture I could keep going on but I think that you might have the idea now. I read about it online and I have used it all the time. I don't use it on eating utensils or laundry but most hard surfaces. Hope that helps.

I had forgotten all about that! We use clear nail polish for skeeters and chiggers... It works really well but it stings a little at first, but less then the vinegar.

I don't use vinegar that much. Although, I use white vinegar when I'm making my batches of fabric softener when I'm doing laundry. This definitely helps clean the clothes, plus it keeps the washer "squeaky" clean. lol I'm sure there are other wats to use vinegar, but I don't know these things.

wow ChenStroy I had no idea that vinegar could be used as a body wash. The smell is a bit strong so I am sure I would go so far to do that unless I had a bad rash of some sort!

You can also use vinegar for pet care. Cats: Use vinegar to clean out a kitty litter pan. Remove the litter and add 1/2 inch of vinegar, let stand for 15 minutes. Pour it out dry the pan and then sprinkle with baking soda and add fresh litter. Control scratching by wiping the ear area with a cloth dipped in vinegar. Dogs: If dog comes home with swollen nose he may have been stung by a wasp or bee. Bathe the affected area in vinegar.

I do not have a cat but my best friend does and I must say she can use this suggestion in the worst way . . ha ha cause when you walk in to her house you immediately now there is a cat living there. Thanks for this for I will definitely pass it on her! Also great to know about the dog getting stung . .as it is now summer and the dogs are out about the odds are in their favor to maybe get stung! I will file this one in my memory for sure!!!!!

I use vinegar to replace bleach in pretty much all occasions. Clothes, scrubbing down floors. My favorite house cleaning secret is Coca Cola. I add a can to laundry that is particular stinky, whether its blankets that little kids have leaked through their diapers on or oil or sweaty boy pit. It really takes the funk out.

coca cola in the wash?? hmmm the coloring from the coka cola doesnt do anything if it is a white wash??? And I never thought to use vinegar instead of bleach. Thanks for that tip cause I hate to use bleach. . sometimes it just spits all around and if there is something nearby that isnt white it gets ruined!!! Thanks for your response ;)
