Today One of my friend suggests me to download a complete book from rapidshare and save the money for buying the same book. But I think reading a book and seeing the same book continuously in the computer screen is not a preferable idea. What do yo you think ?

Having the book in front of you is the best. I am taking a class that has an e-book and I hate it. First, you need to be around a computer. The second, the e-book doesn't have the same page numbers as the table of contents so it is a lot of scrolling to figure out where you are especially when you are trying to find one thing. I rather have spent more money getting the textbook rather than the e-book.

I have also seen that I can better remember the things from a book compared to an ebook. It's also easy for me to carry it anywhere and study there whereas I have a fixed desktop and I can see the ebook when my computer is on.

I would rather read the real thing. I love to read and read fairly quickly but I find trying to read on the computer takes me longer, and it is harder to concentrate.

Another problem is when I need to read the ebook I have to open the computer. I have a desktop and my study room is far away from computer. Its very boring to go to there if I am on the bed.

Well for me as long as it's a reading material I'd read it. As long as it has useful information or entertaining I'll read it. I think e-book has improved our learning and has added to the many sources of knowledge so I accept e-book as something valuable. Although sometimes when you transfer e-book to gadgets like mp4 player the text doesn't convert line breaks but as long as it's understandable I'd go for it. Currently, I love listening to audiobooks because I believe it develops my listening skills and proper pronunciation of the English language.

i agree with you. reading an ebook on the computer screen puts a lot of strain on my eyes. besides, i can't take it with me to wherever i like to read it like in bed or the bathroom haha! some people suggest printing out the ebook so it's like a real book. but how much paper and ink will it cost you? so i just prefer to buy the real book.
