Working Abroad

With the global recession really taking its toll on the economy of even the most powerful countries, life just keeps getting harder. Just last month in the compeny where I worked, a whole team was laid off. I understand there were more than twenty people on the team whose employment was terminated because the company has already started downsizing the work force. I understand that more and more Filipinos are already starting to look for work elsewhere, especially abroad. Many say tha you could earn twice as much if you are lucky enough to find a job abroad. This means leaving their families and their whole lives behind just so they could earn more for their loved ones. It is just so sad that while we live in times when almost everything is supposed to be easier, life just keeps getting harder. Would you consider working abroad just to earn more at the expense of being away from your family?

No, I wouldn't do it if I had a family. At the moment, I don't have a family and am thinking of teaching aboard when I get my BA in 11 more months. The money offered from one site is really good and I've always wanted to travel. The jobs seem guranteed. If I can't get a job once I grad, I might try this.

That is good planning. So that when you do start a family you have already done what you wanted and probably enough money to start a home. Thanks for responding!

I would like to work abroad someday. I think that there are some people who are working abroad and really liking it. I really want to work abroad some day and plan to do it as soon as I am able to do so. I think that I will look into it very soon.
