Bagoong is a kind of dip in the Philippines. It is a paste made either of fish or shrimps we locally call as alamang. We eat unripe mangoes, santol,or kamias with bagoong alamang. You can't appreciate karekare dish without it. Bagoong Isda is a bagoong from fish.It is a product of Souther Luzon region, particularly the Mindoro islands and Batangas. It is best with fried fish or with the mixed vegetable dish that we call pinakbet

yes that is true and bagoong is number one recipe that north luzon used to cook for dinengdeng, and aside from that we also use this when we eat sour fruits such as tamarind and green mango, and all houses in my province always have this.
