Seems like for the last month I've been having first one problem then another with my good old trusted firefox; the last time I griped about this was when after a recent update the dang thing lost my bookmarks and I was losing my tiny mind trying to recover it all, which I did after stewing on it a few days, I found hidden deep in the "bowels" all my old bookmarks, but the thing that has me irritated the most is ...IT'S SO DANG BLASTED SLOW these days....one minute its working fine, the next its freezing up on me; or just sitting there mocking me, not moving, not doing squat; so is anyone else having problems?? I've been working on putting all my files/folders onto a disc for safe keeping, then I'm going to dump all my files and reinstall stupid firefox again and see if it changes anything; TIS VERY VERY AGGRAVATING FOR SURE!!

Hi Ya Gabs Honey, how the heck are you?? Its crazy isn't it? Nope its not your laptop and apparently its not my old computer system here either, firefox just has some bugs or something in it on that last upgrade cause I for sure never ever had any problems like I'm having before using it; Annoying is using a "nice word" to describe it...LOL! The way I feel I can't type out that word...but I'm sure you can guess huh?? Hope you get it to working for you, and I hope it straightens out for me too; so far right now, she working perfectly...silly thing! Later I may not even be able to get a page of ANYTHING to load, that's when I get "mental" about it...LOL! take care now!

Hello Regzastyle: Well I see I'm not alone then in this matter huh? It sucks!! I don't have but 2 add-on's installed and at the moment I can only think of the one; I've not heard of the two you mentioned but then I really don't spend that much time on the site trying to see what all they have for us to add, as I do think all that stuff drags the computer down you know? Hopefully we will get our machines running top notch again and soon; thanks for stopping by and sharing your experience! and welcome to MYLOT!

Hi there, after using firefox as browser for more than a year, I don’t find any problem with it. I trust firefox and I feel satisfied to surf web with it. I find handicapped if using other browsers when doing mylot posting. Might be I’m quite used to its tab function which is very much different from others. I have updated it to the latest 3.0.10 version. It serves its purpose rapidly and efficiently I think might be this is due to the problem of your computer. Yeah, it’s nice for you to backup all the important folders and items and get your computer cleaned totally and reformat your pc again. Hopefully everything is okay now. Happy posting and have a nice day.

HI Ikbooi: I always trusted firefox too until recently when it first started acting up on me, its just been doing crazy things, first one then another; I hope when I get finished saving all my main files and stuff when I do the next upgrade that it will straighten itself out; I do love using it, but i don't like it so much when it blows chunks on me; so far its working just fine today and it did ok last night but every once in a while it sure acts up; ( driving me crazy)!! Thanks for stopping by and sharing I do appreciate it!

I was having the exact same problem with Firefox. What I discovered was evidently when I clean out my cache under Internet Properties, that it wasn't cleaning out my temporary files or clearing out the other properties used by Firefox. So I had to use my AVG anti-virus program to delete the files, cookies, etc. Once I did that, my Firefox is 100 percent better. But, unfortunately I still have to keep doing this about once a week or so because I use the browser so much for research, myLot, etc. Good luck to you. I hope this information may be somewhat helpful in solving your problem with Firefox.

HI Kykidd: All great advice and tips for sure, I clean out my cache a lot during the week, every week and when this thing is acting up, nothing seems to help it out until its finally "ready" to work again for me; Its making me crazy I know that!! I use Norton System works on mine, so I know there is no hidden trojans or other nasty virus's on here; I really think something is just freaky wrong with that last update they did on me cause I've had problems ever since...but once I get all my important stuff safe and sound, then I'm gonna uninstall it and then re-install it all...and if that doesn't help it out any, then I am going to use it for target practice...LOL!!! good luck to you too!!

I thought it was only me!!! If reloading works, please let me know. I've lost count of the number of curse words I've learned with FireFox lately!!! Normally I love it!!!

Found out this morning that a friend of mine who doesn't use Firefox was having a similar problem with IE. Her computer is old so she thought she needed tp upgrade the memory. She took it into the shop & all they did was tweak some of the Microsodft updates & she says her computer is working good as new!!! In thinking, it's NOT just my Firefox having the problem. My Word is doing the same thing. i have 2 email proggies & BOTH are acting up. So, it may be a prob with the Microsoft updates NOT Firefox. If I know Microsoft, they are trying to block everybody from using Firefox!!!

HI LadyMarissa: Nope dear lady you are not alone in this matter and neither am I; You know what I did uninstall my older versions of IE and after I reinstalled it IE 8, firefox has been working fine since then; Now how weird is that? I never dreamed or thought of IE maybe interfering with fire fox but it could be, it very well could be;??? LOL!! I bet you and I have used the same curse words huh? I tell you what when I get mad, really good hopping mad, I can almost outswear my Father's mouth and I learned from the best...LOL! How sad is that? I was so mad for so many days I wanted to not only smash my computer but wanted to use the whole old thing as a target practice, if I had money to buy myself a new one, I'D LOVE TO BLAST THIS THING...ROTFL!!!! no, reloading the dang thing didn't do a bit of good but that's what they always say to do on so many things you know, oh just reload it...it will fix your problems...PPFFTTT!! ( LIARS )... but my system has worked fine the last couple of days, no freezing up, no stalling out, and I've not had to threaten my puter at all not once...LOL! Good luck with yours try uninstalling IE any of your old versions and then reinstall IE 8 and see if it helps out your firefox, and speed wise?? Hey it might work, so far so good for me!

Well on a good note you are not the only one. I honestly thought I caught a virus or something, but nothing comes up. No virus or anything. I did the last update also and all the sudden it has started taking forever to load or just freezes also. So I tried internet explorer, ugh! that was even worse. But it seems to be getting a little better today, then it was yesterday. Good Luck. :)

Hi there: Imajerseygirl; I think firefox is having major problems I really do; I hate IE and can't get it to work properly either ( most days ) right now the silly system is working fine but early this morning; It was constipated big time! that's the only way I know to describe it and I get so frustrated with it I just want to bash it all in or use the dang thing for a target practice...only thing is I have no money to replace it all if I blow it up...LOL!! I want to uninstall the blasted thing but not until I get all my other stuff safely transferred onto a disc; I'm not taking any chances; I do run Norton systemworks and there is no virus on my computer but I'm so tired of it being sluggish and then too paying for DSL and the whole thing just being so freakin slow; glad to know I'm not alone in this...(G)!! But it sucks doesn't it??

i reality i use firefox when i surf the web and so i am using firefox also now and i never had these kind of problems before!! So i don't know if is due to just some users or some functionalities or update that have some bug but for the moment i have not noticed that so i guess it can include a little part of users using firefox daily!!In fact i update the browser recently but never about you mentioned!!I think so you were right to save your files on a dis safe in this way you can restore them if you will have so often this problem..

HI tonyllenium; I think firefox just had some upgrade bugs in it, as there have been several others that responded to this post also having problems; Mine has worked fine the last few days which is GREAT...I hope it continues what ever I did or maybe firefox just got its bugs worked out I don't know but its been running smoothly ever since, thank God! I was ready to use my puter for target practice I was getting so mad at it; LOL! Yeah I used to be really good about always doing my backups and then I got to slacking off, and now I need to start doing that again more often;

It's not just you. I usually evade an upgrade as long as I can, but firefox has gotten really sneaky and upgrades without asking. Every time it does that it slows down a little more. It's really getting frustrating.

Hi Sweetie: I was so tired last night I couldn't even write anymore on here; I know they have gotten really sneaky and I don't like that you know? Especially when the "newer upgrades" are blowing chunks for some of us; don't know what I can really do about it except fuss and cuss and yell and rant and rave...LOL!!! a couple of myloter's have mentioned using Chrome, I've not checked it out yet myself seems I never have enough time but I will soon; take care and I hope you and I get our machines up and running smoothly again ya know? take care!

The last few days everything has been running much much better, not sure what all I did on here if anything but I've been doing lots of things to try to get it to move FASTER...(G)!! I just get crazy when the thing bogs down and or won't load squat at all you know? I hate it! Zero patience!! thanks for stopping by, and I hope your puter quits freezing up on you!!

Hi Cynthiann: I think mine was installed on its own, but check this page out http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/features/ have you tried when typing to misspell a word ? if its installed already you should see a red line over the misspelled word; If you don't see a red line then you've spelled it correctly; Hope this helps you out; (G)!

YES!!! Its so slowwww. I have tried everything that has been told to me to speed it up and none of that works. There was a trick you could do in about:config to make it faster and it did for a little while but with the recent upgrades it no longer has any effect. Book mark links magically change themselves and forget trying to read a page with any kind of flash on it.

Hi, thanks for highlighting your problems. I thought my computer was sick! I keep getting stuck and get messages saying "no response". I still find it better than the latest version of Internet Explorer but would like something else that is more reliable.

Hello Colmuc: NO I really think that last upgrade firefox did really has some major bugs/issues in it there are just too many of us on here having the same sort of problems you know? Yes I agree I don't like any version of silly IE...but I keep it downloaded as a back up just in case you know? I've used firefox the last couple of years and I never ever had a problem until that last upgrade they did on me, then freaky things started going haywire on me; So I thought I'd complain about it on here, makes for a good topic discussion, I have so much trouble trying to think of things to write about, so I just use whatever is going on around me here in my life (G)! Hope you are enjoying mylot and I hope we all get the bugs/issues worked out of firefox; Silly thing! take care!
