My duaghter has started to raise some rabbits and she had purchased a pregnant one at the sale barn the other night. It had a litter last night and I was excited when my husband told me but after inspecting them we found that she had lost all of them. I am so sad! I was wondering if anyone knew how long we had to wait to breed her again.

I used to have a friend whom like to keep rabbits as pets. But she will cage them up, and I asked why she does that? She said that she didn't want them to end up being lost or worst, killing each other off. I think rabbits and bunnies especially are extremely cute. They can really make your heart melt when you watch them. But I think their life span is pretty short too.

A mother bunny will kill her babies if a mouse runs through the nest and a male rabbit will kill babies, but I don't think they will kill each other off. They are adorable to watch and I am glad that she is interested in them. However, they do take some work.

By the way, I don't think bunnies can kill each other off, unless there are other pets around to mess things up or some sort, ha..

I am not sure when it will breed again but I know they breed often. We had some when I was growing up and they tend to breed rapidly. I hope you will be able to have some baby bunnies again soon.

I hope that she does too. my daughter was so disappointed when she found out that none of them had made it. She actually bought some small ones at the sale this week. I hope that she does okay with them.

Did anyone touch them before you inspected them? I'm not sure on breeding rabbits. I don't imagine you would have to wait too long. Just remember when you do not to touch them at all no matter how cute they look or the mother will kill them.
