What do you enjoy doing best with friends?

Is it just chatting, going out to a movie or doing something, being silly and just hanging out, working together, or texting and talking on the phone?

CE- Several of my best friends right now are in other countries/states so we do everything by emails. I love getting a note from them! We are on the same social networks so it's always a treat to see a comment pop up with their lovely face beside it. My favorite time spent though would be in person. I really miss the days when a good friend of mine lived in the same city as I did and we would get together for dinners! It was great to sit and talk, watch her kiddos play and just enjoy each other's company. She was and still is a huge inspiration to me. Now I just rely on her emails, and it's nice to know that I give back to her as well through emails. Namaste-Anora

I agree. It is the pits to not have your good friends nearby. I love to hear from them and am glad there is free long distance now days. [Not in another country ofcourse]I really took for granted the times they lived nearby.

Yes, sometimes you just don't realize how close you are with someone until they or you move. We used to hang out and watch movies too, which was a lot fun! And she was my motivator for exercising! Not that she still can't do that lol.

Ya, I like that too. I used to love to talk to friends on the phone. There were even times that I would pick up the phone and one of them would be on the other end. Cute, huh?

Hi celticeagle, You just made me miss my friends even more with your topic. hehehe! I am far away from home right now and I would say I miss all those things that I enjoy doing best with my friends. Like hanging out with them, having fun eventhough we're all broke (hehe!), laughing a lot. We also do a lot of texting and talking on the phone. I remember, we can talk on the phone from probably 7pm until early in the morning. Then we usually have our morning breakfast (1am) after hanging out. We really have a lot of good times. Now I am looking forward to be with them again and enjoy the things we used to do. Simple things make us happy. Happy mylotting and take care of your friends. That's one thing that we will all be lucky to have especially when you find the true ones.

My friends are far away for the most part too. My best friend is in Texas and I live in Idaho. It is sad. I miss her and her family. She is like a sister to me. I really do know how you feel. Happy mylotting to you as well.

Hi, celticeagle, How I would come upon my friends would depend on the context. But most of the time I like to chat this or that round and when not physically close I love to make phone calls.

i enjoy all the time i spend with my friends even if it just chatting, eating or just doing nothing. I really miss them because of the busy schedules. But I prefer seeing them in person so that I can interact with them and throw my jokes on them and see how they changed as time goes by.

I just can’t relax with friends by doing all th at, and that’s why I don’t have any friends. My students (I teach freelance German and English) many times turn into my friends, particularly those you have been working with me for a long time. Teaching one on one is impossible overtime unless you develop rapport and later at least a liking to each other. And I’ve had GREAT conversations. This is friendship within a format, and I like it just fine.

Well, depending on the friend will depend upon the activity I enjoy doing best with them. One of my friends can not shut up during movies. So I never go to movies with her. Still love her as my friend though. I think the most universal activity I do with any of my friends is going out for coffee. I am super addicted to coffee so it is a nice bonus to go with friends.

With friends in order of favorite (althow I like variety) 1. Going to a COMFORTABLE resturant that we can have a good meal, good coffee, and sit and talk for about 2=3 hours without having to move. 2. Fixing fun foods, putting in a good movie and kickin back. 3. Playing chess or cards with some warm french bread and a good chees and crab salad. 4. going on a drive in the "back land" with friends laughing and enjoying the day. Maybe stop for a picknick. 5. Art shows or garage sales Do you start to see a pattern here? Untill I got sick my list was different. These were all on it but not necessarily the top 5. I loved to go on trail rides, hikes in the woods, camping in tents, dancing, jambories. Now these 5 things are extremely hard if not impossible to do. now its food, talk, and sedatary style. Boy do I miss the good ole days. LOL

That sounds like great fun. I wish all my friends lived in the same city. They live all over the country.
