about my perfect day...because now things have started to unravel a bit. Shortly after I posted my hubby called and said he'd be later after all. I don't have the time now to make what I was going to make for dinner, plus I lack a few ingredients. The dog just got scared and peed on the floor. Have you ever jinxed yourself with a mylot post?

That is usually how things go and how things happen. I hope your week has been better.

I'm not sure if I have ever jinxed myself with a Mylot post or not but I know the kind of day you are having very well. I have tried to be happy and make good days also but things go haywire in an instant and ruin it here too.

Jinxes always happen. It is like a direct result of everything that we do or think. The trick is not to take it too seriously and just go about your business like there is no jinx. cheers!!

I havent. but there is always the possibility that that will happen. I just think there are many things that can make me freak out and I can see that if I were talking about a bad day or a good day something like that might happen. It has been known to happen before. I hope that there are some things that can be differnt.

Kind of like the old phrase, "Knock on Wood." Apparently, people used to believe there were imps in the wood who might hear you boasting of your good fortune and curse you. The knocking was designed to confuse or disorient them as I recall.
I suppose I can look that up, too.

(Another explanation for this practice is the pagan belief that spirits (dryads) lived in trees.[3]By knocking on the wood of a tree while making some sort of a bold statement, the speaker could prevent the spirit from hearing them and stop the spirit from interfering[citation needed] or out of respect for the wood spirit, touching a tree indicated seeking protection from the particular spirit.[1] )

Interesting, guess I had heard incorrectly. It makes more sense to believe Dryads would live in wood than imps. I wonder where I read the thing about Imps. Oh, well, out with the bad information and in with the good, right?

I haven't experienced that yet, but I understand how it feels to have a husband who comes late, or a dog peeing on the floor...that's truly a mess and I could just imagine how you handled such. Anyway, I truly enjoy responding more than posting discussions. My real jinx is when I start a discussion and I don't get responses from my friends! That's the real downer for me.

oh no! I'm sorry to hear about that! It can be really frustrating when your partner has to get home later from work. I know they can't help it most of the time, but it's still frustrating for the one at home making dinner. I've had this happen to me in the past. Guess we just have to be flexible. And I'm so sorry about the dog peeing on the floor. That sounds like one yucky clean up!!
I don't think I've ever jinxed myself with a Mylot post but I've certainly jinxed myself before by simply opening my mouth! haha
