pap smear is very important for every woman, it helps us to detect early if there is something wrong to our reproductive organs and so we can do something to prevent a more severe disease...and i believe it should be done regularly, yearly. i remember i was very late to have my first pap smear, i'm already 26 when i have it and the doctor told me that i should have it when i was 18...but thanks God everything is ok with my body...and so from then on i make sure that i,m having it regularly. how about you? do you regularly have your pap smear? at what age did you start having it? thanks and have a nice day! :-)

In my country women usually get a pap smear every 3 years, it is not normal to get one every year. It think it has been two years since I had my last one, so I should receive my next invitation/reminder in about one year. We always get a letter when it is time for the next test. I think woman get their first letter when they are 24, but I am not sure. I am 30 now, and so far everything have been okay with my body, and I am very grateful for that.

it can be done anytime except during menstruation..so before or after doesn't matter.

Hello I started at about 18 around the time I started being active. I have gotten it every since. I had a scare a few years back of cervical cancer and I am thankful that I got it checked and taken care of. Having anything that messes with your reproductive system hurts you when you want to reproduce. I want to get out and have more babies LOL. Not getting a pap smear every year does more harm than good! So I hope everyone goes out and gets one!
