I love meat. i tried to stay away from it for 2 weeks but i missed the taste of meat during these 2 weeks. i regulate my meat intake and i eat lots of vegetables and fruits to try to balance my diet. i know a few people who are vegetarians since they were young and i am impressed by their excellent health and lifestyle. do you think you can be a vegetarian if you want to? wouldn't you miss all the dishes that meat is the main ingredient? if you are a vegetarian, do you believe you are getting all the needed nutrients without eating meat?

I try to eat well and avoid the sugars and starches because I know those things are not good for me at all, they are called empty calories for a reason. When I went to an Mayan village once they showed the graves of the villagers who lived within the walls, who ate meats, they said they were almost a foot taller than the peasants outside of the wall who only ate grains and veggies. That says alot to me.

I will never be a vegatarian, I love meat and feel so much more energetic when I eat it, so eat a balance of both without starches and sugar.

meat eater or veggie? Hummm that is interesting. So are you for eating meat or not? I thought we all stopped growing after a certain age anyhow. Well some of us grow out more but not taller. Anyhow that was very interesting the findings at the mayan village. I don't think that I will ever go completely vegetarian but I will cut back on my meats because my body don't call for it on a regular basis. Happy mylot and thanks for sharing!

I prefer vegetables since I was very young! So now I am painfully thin, but I am very healthy, except sometimes sore throat for the reason of my job. Actually, I can't distinguish the taste between port and beef, they are same to me, so does the other meat. Since I know the world, I remember once I eat a piece of fat meat, the meat block my thoat and make me feel very sick, from then on, I have been geting away from meat and become a vegetarian

Meat or vegetarian......... Well I have never been able to eat fat meat either. I would have to throw it back up if I tried to force it down. I have always been that way. Now guess what, I was recently reading in the bible that in the book of Deuteronomy that God was telling us that we shouldn't eat fat meat. It's kind of funny how my body already knew it even before I read about it in the bible.... BTW If you are painfully thin you might want to start eating a little bit of meat or perhaps more beans.......

i have a good idea that most people know that a completely balanced diet can be achieved by adhering strictly to a vegetarians diet. a good mix of various fruits and vegetables can adequately provide us with all our food requirements in order to obtain a well nourished body. in the contrary, no amount of mix of various meat and meat products can fully provide us with all our food requirements in order to obtain for ourselves a well nourished body. as for me, i can very well say that i can stick to a vegetarian's diet if i choose to. however, my diet had always been a mix of fish and animal meat, fruits and vegetables. at times when meat cannot be available for weeks, i never felt any clamor for any meat. this is a common happening at the farm where only fruits and vegetables are readily available. per my experience, i can live without meat and i will feel so weakened without fruits and vegetables for two days straight.

at times when meat cannot be available for weeks Are you serious about that? I've heard of remote places running out of some foods, like in the Arctic, but meat is not a problem to get there. You'll have to tell a bit more about that, it's interesting.

I once said to a co-worker at a Christmas luncheon our company was giving: "I'd be a vegetarian if it weren't for the fact that I love meat so much." A guy standing in line behind me (this was buffet-style) laughed his butt off and asked if he could use that line. I worked for a pre-print company so it was highly likely that this guy was also a writer, so I said sure, he could use it. Anyway, if I don't eat meat, I get weak. I can eat all the eggs, peanut butter, etc. (foods with protein) I want but, if I don't eat meat, I just get weak. So, I guess I need it. I do love veggies, whether raw or cooked, but I NEED meat. So, I wouldn't consider being a vegetarian. If meat became so expensive that no one but the very rich could afford it, I guess I'd learn how to hunt.

Hey mental! I have said that very same thing too! Being such an animal person I am ashamed of myself for loving the taste of meat. And the worst part of it all is that beef is supposed to be bad for us and that's what I love the most!

I could also never give up my meat and agree, I also get weak if I do not get enough.I eat chicken but do not feel as full and am sluggish after. They say it is because white meat chicken does not have enough fat in it.

for me balance diet are consists of all, meat, vegetables, fruits, and seafoods. we have meat in our dishes weekly and vegetables too. i dont care what vegetarian says that we can get protein from other vegetables, yeah, eat tofu (and other beans) for protein... eh? i have hypothyroidism so its not allowed for me... some people dont understand that there are certain vegetables that whenever eaten too much will not be good for our bodies also... i think its ok to eat meat as long as we dont over eat it, and balance what we take. i love eating meat... i dont know if i can be a vegetarian... its really hard to say for me.

Meat lover or vegetarian........ Hello again Jayrene. You make some very good points but I do feel like as humans we'd probably all be a lot better off if we did go for more of a plant based diet. On the other hand, God made all things to be enjoyed. We can eat meat like you said, as long as we don't over do it........Right now if I eat a steak two or three times a year I'm fine with that. Steak takes such a long time to break down in the human body. I think it take at least two or three days. That is really amazing to me that anything would take so long to break down. Imagine how long it take those really hard vitamin???.. Anyhow, enjoy your meat if that is what you like. We only go around once. That's my philosophy on it!..... Happy mylot.

I love meat when I was a teen I tried to eat a veggie sub from subway and I kept telling myself that it was good but I knew that something else was missing. I would eat cereal and milk cheese and eggs but no meat. After awhile I went back to my meat because I missed the taste of it.

Im in the vegetarian crowd. There are actually different levels. At one time i was strrickly vegan. No animal products. I actually learned that being vegan increased your chances of cancer unless you ate your weight in greens, daily. So then i included Fish and dairy. I do eat chicken sometimes. This is all still considered vegetarian. Comparing my health to others my age, i think im doing better health wise. Meat is not actually i thing we need and ive seen in the scriptures that it was never ment to be a meat eating world. Which was exactly why i desided to be vegetarian. Im preparing for the new world order, under Jahovahs rulership. There are many things you can eat in place of meat. Beans is one. Mushroom has a beefy flavor. So for me instead of beef stroganoff, its mushroom stroganoff. MMMmmm making me hungry just thinking about it.

Hi m2ponce! I wish I could say that I am a vegetarian only, but as I said to my good friend mentalward I just love meat too much too! I eat a nice balance of them both! It bothers me that I am an animal person and eat meat, but I unfortunately need meat in my diet or as mentalward said I feel week too. I do love veggies, but I just can't feel complete eating them without some type of meat or chicken too and I definitely need the nutrient that we get from the meat. I tend to be anemic so for me it is important to eat a well balanced diet.

I am not a vegitarian, tried it several times, and could not stick with it. I know feel that if I were put in a situation, (like growing my own food and such) that I could live a meat-free life with substitutions. There seems to be a lot of dishes that are meatless and wonderful. The body though seems to tend to crave meat after awhile. I think it is possible to get the nutrients you need without eating meat, though it would be a little more eating.

Are you a meat eater or vegetarian......... Hello my friend, I think that I am mostly a vegetarian eater versus meateater. Now let me tell you something, I love my meat too but I think that I could live without it if I ever had to. Just thinking about the fact that when we eat meat we are really eating flesh from some poor animal is almost enough to make me want to go vegetarian but it would be hard to give up meat totally because I have been eating it almost all of my life. But if I was weaned from it gradually I could become a vegetarian with no problem because I love my veggies perhaps more than I love the meats. I really don't think that I could live without my veggies. If I don't get my veggies I start getting very angry. I feel like I need those cabbage, collards and spinach and other greens running throughout my body in order to help me perform at my peak. Add to it the fruits, veggies and nuts and yeah I would have no problem becoming a vegetarian as long as I could get my nuts and other fruits. happy mylot

Although I do eat meat my ex was a vegetarian and he ate healthily, all I did was to ensure he took vitamins and also could make pretty much any meal I made for myself with the vegetarian alternatives. I think as long as you take care of yourself not eating meat should not be a problem. I enjoy my meat dishes but woudl be happy to eat veggie ones too. I do think that I woudl miss eating meat if I were to become vegetarian though

Hi, i am not a meats lover. I dont choose foods actually. I eat anything that cooked by my mom. I eat a lot of vegetables too and less meats. I think we cannot eat too much meats if we want a healthy body. We should control the quantity of meats that we are eating. I loved fruits too. I will eat at least one type of fruit a day. So for me i think my diet is quite healthy now.

I'm both... I don't restrain myself on certain food groups, I eat what I love and I maintain a nice diet. So far so good I'm physically fit. I have to, with my heart condition I couldn't afford to be too lousy and careless. Although I avoid food with too much cholesterol and fats... Studies show that you could learn if you what you're eating is healthy or not simply by observing your stool in the morning. If it floats it means you're eating healthy if it sinks then its bad for you... Food rich in fiber is good for our body to remove all the toxins that poisons our cells... Nothing beats a good and healthy diet, with meat, vegetable, fish and fruits.

im 98% non vegetarian and 2% vegetarian. i actually eat a lot of junk food which is not healthy. i eat only selected vegetable occationaly. i think we should be both to get all the nutrients. i do not know the nutritious content for all food. egg, fish, chicken has lot of protein content. some vegetarians are weak are prescribed by the doctors to eat egg everyday. and non veges are asked to eat green leaf, carrots, capsicum etc. so i think equal amount of both would do good

I believe in a balanced diet. I'm not Inuit so I don't need to eat a lot of meat and I'm not a vegan so I can't live that way. I know what my body needs and I don't eat a lot of meat but I get an empty feeling once in a while that requires me to eat a good portion of meat. I love fish so that's not a problem there. It's just too bad that the food we do eat can be so bad because of the way animals are fed and crops are raised. Everything is done to get the best bang for the buck and we ingest products that are full of toxins because of it.
