Yes i do give a letter to my girl pals. Hand written letters are very personalized. For me when I write letter all that is written there comes from my heart. It only means that I am giving it to a very important person because I gave an effort of writing it. I also do handwriting my diary still, because some do blogs but me since I don't have computer at home I just write on my journal.

I think that is a good thing. Much more personal and appreciated, always a nice surprise to receive something hand written :)

Receiving handwritten letters are lovely! I still preserve the old ones. However, I hardly write then now. I write small notes to my friends and boss an they think those bring smile to their face. Like I would bring back my empty lunch box with a note to my mom. she opens and finds it and finds it funny or feels happy about it. I mostly appreciate her because I seldom do it in person. It feels great as well.

Hi Mim :)
I think because they are so rare now, that you are right, handwritten notes and letters have even more meaning now. I, too, have letters I've saved from years ago. It is nice to read through them every so often.

I still send handwritten letters every once in while, but not as often as I used to. I was about 12 when I found my first penfriends. In the beginning I only had penfriends from my own country, but after a while I started corresponding with people from other countries around the world. At that time there was no internet and every letter was handwritten. I still like to write letters to my friends, but today I usually send them emails instead of handwritten letters. I can't send emails to everyone though. I have a some friends who don't like computers, so I still write snailmail letters to them.

I remember having a pen pal when I was in school. She was in France, and I am in the US. We had some wonderful exchanges. Like you, I don't send regular letters as often as I once did, but it is fun to surprise someone with one now and then, and yes, not everyone has a computer. Snail mail still has a purpose in light of that.
Thank you for commenting.

Hello my friend PeacefulWmn9 Ji,
Well hand written letter has very close feelings than any other ways. There are many formalities observed while writing by hand. There is absolutely nil relationship (Warm) maintained at other ways. Further, I would not like to miss my basic concept in any case. I love hand-written letters, but one has to devote more time and patience. May God bless You and have a great time.

No, not at all, there is no reason to send hand-written letters anymore.
I think my friends will think I am crazy if I start doing that. It is much faster and cheaper to communicate via skype, email and text message.
To be frank, hand-written letters take so much time and effort to write, and there is nothing so important to make it worthwhile.

LOL, it would probably shock them, for sure. I do value the quickness and cost savings of the internet, but I also love to surprise a loved one now and then by sending a letter via "snail mail." Thank you for responding :)

To be honest with you then I rarely write letters to others I prefer to send emails or telephone then or simply send then a an ecard. I keep in touch with them through the internet than writting letters. I find it an instanteneous mean.

Hi Karen....and yes I do still send handwritten letters even though the price of postage keeps going up...lol
I have a nephew in prison serving time for a crime that he has since changed his life around so much sometimes I wonder if I am talking to the same person when I read the letters that he sends me.
He has started a support group on the inside and they have Bible study everyday.
I sent them all pocket angels at Christmas as a gift..I was really surprised they were allowed to have them but they went through to them and each one thanked me for giving them hope for a good life when their day comes to be released. The are not harded criminals, just kids that got in with the wrong group of people and hopefully they will have had time to really see what wrong they did.
