Would you be happy if you had everything you ever wanted?

June 21, 2009 6:35pm CST
So all your dreams, hopes and plans have been fulfilled. You have everything you ever wanted in this life. Would you be happy or would you still be pouncing around and looking for something else? What would you do if you have everything this life can offer? In my case I think I would be a happy bunny. I would never be stressed, not worry about anything again and just wake up every morning with the biggest grin on my face and yes I'd probably get fat and lazy! Although it would be nice to just wake up tomorrow morning and say I'm packing my bags for a 14 day Caribbean cruise! So I wonder what you guys would do if you have it all....

well you even I will be happy at first but as time goes by you get sick of it and it turns out to be just another plain thing. so the exciting thing of wanting something is you will do anything to get it. if you got it with no effort at all you will never appreciate its value

I really don't know whether i would be happy or not.....as many a times i have not got what i wanted(actually most of the times)......if i assume i would then i feel not really.......life is actually made in that way, the more you struggle the more you get......i feel if i got things that easily i would have probably turned into a lazy bum....and also life would have been boring....its like knowing the winner before the match begins..... But yes the offer sounds quite tempting.......caribbean cruise, i can never ever resist that......i don't mind being a lazy bum for that......lolzzzz Nice discussion.....as usual !!!!

Happiness is not about what we want. human nature always want more. Happiness is relative and has many factors. Family life, friends, and yes...little luxury.... I don't think all of my plans can be fulfilled...because there are always people in need who need help....

I don't think it would be quite happy for me if I have everything I ever wanted.Somehow it feels like I have all the things without working for it and it is not worthwhile.Though we can enjoy the things we have but the satisfaction is not there.I would rather work hard for the things that I've always wanted so that I would be enjoying it all time...

I don't like to be happy alone. If I have everything I ever wanted, I want to share them with the people I love. :)

i would certainly be overjoyed..!go mad wid joy probably.i picturize myself like this-go hopping around telling people about my hapiness..laugh a lot..smile thruout the day,and even at night in my dreams..enjoy..freak out..and utilize all the time i spent in worrying to rather be happy!but you know really we know the worth of joy because we faced pain or stress or grief..joy and hapiness is valued so high because of the negatives..and yes more the strain and stress, more will be the worth of the leisure we get..more the pain, more is is hapiness sought after ,valued..!so if all my dreams are fulfilled and all my worries are easied out..and i will be in a forever state of hapiness..i'l get BORED!i'l get so bored to gettin everything and nevr having to run behind or chase my dreams..if i get everything id asked for..i'l miss out on all the mistery aand all the exitement the journey would have fetched me..so u know in a nutshell..the journey is what matters...and it best that its filled with all possible emotions:)

no body can be happy in this world. your desires makes you unhappy and you can reach to the point of satisfaction in life. Even the person who says that he is happy with his life, is not satisfied with the life.

About 6 years ago I had everything I had ever wanted & you described exactly how I felt!!! I was a happy little camper. I woke up every morning with a HUGE grin on my face. I loved my days & I went to sleep every night still grinning!!! I didn't pack my bag for the cruise because that wasn't on my list of everything I had ever wanted. I've never wanted money or material things. Eventually I lost my everything, but I'll NEVER lose the memory of how it felt to have it ALLLLLL!!!! Heaven....PURE HEAVEN!!!

Hey, Well I'm not exactly sure if I would be happy if I would have everything I'd ever wanted. I think I might be of course, because I would have everything. But I'm not exactly sure, would this also include love? Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

I would be hypocrite if i say that i would not be happy. Of course, naturally if you have money, you can buy things you want or do the things you like to do. Name it, you can do it, although you can't buy good health, good sleep, true friend and true love, because money will never be the solution for every problem. We humans will never be satisfied with what we want or we don't even know at times what do we really want. But in the case wherein the scenario would be waking up with a happy grin, happy and content because you got all what you need including your every dreams hopes and plans, wow, we would not be needing God at all so i guess that's the reason why we will never be contented , we are broken and only God can fill us. This is my opinion. Happy Mylotting.

Thats so true.. I didn't think of the God part. It didn't cross my mind that If we indeed had everything then God would not be God.. I guess thats what makes it very impossible for us to have everything.. Thanks for the reminder

Have it all . .interesting concept but in reality what does that really mean . . . I get the feeling you are talking about material possessions ???? For me "having it all" is a peaceful mental attitude and serenity of my soul... To learn a new thing everyday is something I strive for. And if I had that and then I knew everything . ..what would there be to live for? All the possessions and pleasures of the world are only valuable to the extent that they are accompanied by peace of mind. For if a person has tremendous riches and can gratify all of his desires, will never less suffer if he lacks peace of mind. And I have found that power hungry people and people that are status seekers lack this realization. so for me .. .teach me something new . .stir the passions within me . .set my soul on fire and grant me peace of mind

well, nice plan there... if you have everything won't you be happy and contented? yes. but a void in your life will be gnawing soon because those everything you've got will be worth it only if have served their purpose. and you too have done your purpose and that void can only be filled up by serving Jehovah God the Almighty to the fullest meaning using and doing everything to accomplish his will, then that is the time you can only feel real contentment and peace and happiness in life.

I agree. i would be happy but it will be short lived, it wont be fun if everything you wanted you can get without a little bit of excitement over working for it and seeing progress.

Of course, I would be happy if everything I want is already fulfilled... If you have everything you wanted, why would you want another? You just said EVERYTHING as in EVERYTHING, so what else would you want if you have EVERYTHING...

I would be more than happy and grateful to be able to have everything I want ever! What's happier than having everything that you want? Right now I want a lot of stuff that I'm dying desperate for but I don't get none... I would just be happy to have them...

Humans can never be happy...they are not meant to be happy....they always want something.....thats what keeps them moving..if you'll get evrything you want...life would be so boring and there would be nothing to look forward to.....therefore god has given us such a fickle mind..... there was this million dollar question in my 5th grade english question paper..." what will you do if you have unlimited supply of money??" My answer was i'll do nothing. My life would be same as now....i won't open a business or help poor people or go on a world tour or whatever.....I love a nice quiet life in which your friends like you and no one else knows you....because if you are known by many then everyone can't be a friend...some turn out to be enemies and then they conspire against you and take the peace outta your mind......i like to be lazy, both mentally and physically.....so nothing would change for me....

I wouldn't be. When you are in need, you can appreciate things more... a lot more, rather than if you are just used to receiving everything because if you are extremely rich or extremely spoiled, you never know what its like to be in need since you are just so used to having everything handed to you on a silver platter, therefore when you receive something, your joy isn't that full because you already have it. However, when you are in need, and when you receive something that you really wanted, your joy is so much more fuller, if anything, full to the max, because you know you've never had it so therefore, you learn to appreciate more.

Hi Jellymonty, this is purely my opnion. As an average human-being, we always are not satisfied with what we have. Even though we have everything in life from wealth to fame. We always tend to feel incomplete. That's the nature of mankind!
