Are you ever disappointed when you check your Mylot earnings?

Have you ever worked for three or four hours posting responses and then checked the next day to find that you have only earned a few cents? Were you disappointed? Have you ever posted just one discussion and found that your earnings were far more than expected? Did that make you happy?

When I first started on the lot I checked my earnings daily to see how they had changed and was elated or disappointed depending on how much I had earned. After awhile though, I stopped, because it was disappointing to see money not being made as fast or as well as I thought. These days, I don't even look the night before so I have no clue as to how much I made that day.

You have such wonderful restraint. Even after three years, I still can't stop myself from peeking at the number at the top of my Mylot screen just to see if they've budged.

Some weeks are like that for me. This past month, I was really active on Mylot and it only came out to just about $20. So I got busy with some other paying stuff online like surveys and such and earned more money that way and just didn't have time for Mylot. But yesterday, I just felt like dropping by and chatting for awhile. Mylot was good to me and gave me almost a dollar. Considering most surveys pay me from $3.00 to $25.00, the Mylot earnings were not that much. So, guess I'm more on mylot just to chat and have fun rather than making momey.

I'm not sure it is restraint as much as it is that I know I have not spent that much time on here lately so I know the earnings haven't gone up that much. That and so many discussions lately have been deleted after I responded to them, that always hurts the earnings

Yesterday, I posted on Mylot while listening to music and it was very enjoyable and rewarding. Being, the weekend, I had much more time to spend on Mylot and so did not notice when three hours had flown by. A very nice way to have fun and earn some money too.

Hi Smileonstar, I understand your frustration. Try to comment with quality rather than just answer the discussion. In between you discussions, why not try the tasks? When I started lotting here, I found that the earnings are too low. Now when I got the catch of this site, I'm happy to get $0.10 a day. These days, I tend to enjoy the topics and more than the earnings.

Hi Candy! Thanks for contributing. Your comments are appreciated. And, as you get more points and stars, you will earn more money and be considered a valuable part of the community. Commenting to other people's comments is a good way to get involved on Mylot and earn more money too. Start some discussions of your own. That always pays good as long as you have plenty of responses. Best of luck to both of you.

Over my 3 years with mylot I have learned to not count on anything as you just never know. I love mylot and figure as much as I enjoy my time and friends here the money is just an added bonus. There was a time I worked my hardest to reach payout each month but I don't do that anymore - I just don't have the time to spend that much time here.

Now see that's how much attention I pay - I didn't know they did that although I have had a major drop in my count one day - I was excited because was nearing the 6000 responses when it dropped down almost 100. I didn't think I had don't anything wrong, have always left 'quality' responses. I do also know that there are some people who just get an attitude at someone and will go through and report discussions for no good reason at all just to get them deleted. I do for the most part try to stay 'nutral' and avoid the contreversy but if it's a friend's discussion I sometimes can't avoid stepping in.

Same here. I'm the neutral party. Never try to get too controversial. I have done so once or twice and always regret it. I've only ever posted one or two rants in my day; and I mean real barn burners. And, almost immediately regretted it. One of those open letter type things where the guilty party is not named and I kid you not almost everyone responding to the discussion though I was talking about them. As you say, most time, the deleted comments are not your fault. When a discussion is deleted, all the responses are deleted too. Can't figure out why good discussions are deleted other than spite or malice as you mentioned. Some people just get a mean attitude about them for no reason or take slight offense and then 'Watch out!' If we could all hear each other speaking with our real voices, I think there would be so many less hurt feelings on Mylot.

I try to stay away from the more controversial discussions as most are deleted eventually. Not right away. That way Mylot gets the benefits from the discussions being up. And, the ne'er do wells think they have gotten away with something bad. But, by the end of the month, you go check and those controversial discussions are gone! Slate wiped clean. And, the person who posted them is minus a few cents along with everyone that responded. Now imagine that happening twenty or thirty times to one person and we're talking about a significant dip in earnings. So if you notice that you didn't earn a lot on some days but do more on others, it's not cause you didn't earn any money. It's simply to do with the 'house cleaning' mechanism on Mylot. They just deduct the amount from the previous days earnings. And, it just looks like you didn't earn as much. That's my experience from my own three years here. Best for me to stay PG!

Both situations have happened with me, so I guess you can say that I have just been more mellow with it. I figure that if I work my butt of one day and don't get much, but then the next are more lax but get more, well then it just works out, and while I am aggravated, the first day... I'm not so much the next. I know that I need to spend a lot more time on this site to make as much money as I really would like to $1.00 a day, being the money I'd like to make.

$1.00 a day is a really good goal. And for me, that's about average. But I do spend a lot of time on Mylot if I'm not doing anything else on my other money making sites and when I'm not working on my blog. Most times, I work on Mylot during early morning hours before my daughter wakes up or after she goes to sleep at night. That lets me get things accomplished easier. Otherwise, I am constantly jumping up every five minutes to run off and fetch something for someone. I like the uninterrupted posting a lot better.

I am sure, lol. I'm glad I wasn't making money whilst living with my grandparents, I was always interrupted. Lol. Here I am from time to time, but even so it's my own interruptions as well as that from my fiance, his parents, or my cousin who occasionally comes to visit. Good Luck on your earnings!

Some days the earnings is barely a blip on my radar. But most times, I have to take a sneak peek. Just out of curiosity.

I think that it is the same for all of us. I have a number of programs that i do every day. so i do not spend a lot of time here every day. but i do try to check back a few times a day to see what is new that i can respond to.

Yep! I do the same thing, spread the wealth all over the Internet and make a little bit of money at a lot of things every day. Just a dollar here or there, but at the end of the day it adds up and I haven't left my house or battled traffic to earn money. For me, that's the bonus and it lets me be a stay at home mom and pay the bills too. So that's nice!

Not really. After years of Mylotting I have learned to access roughly the amount that would be credited into my account at the end of the day.I know that I always get the amount proportional to the participation in discussions I make here.So I am never disappointed.

Same here! Though I have been disappointed in the past. About a year ago, I posted 178 comments on the blogs section of Mylot and only earned $1.50. That was very disappointing! A lot of work, for a lot of nothing!

oh yes... sometimes... but most of the time i am happy because i know that i didn't spend lots of time here... and i think that the payment here is quite fair in comparison with my effort... so i am not complaining at all... i had been really slow with this site lately because i am so busy with my daily tasks... but i try to catch on again so that i can earn more from here like in the past... take care and have a nice day...

Sure, I've been disappointed many times. But I have fun on here too, so I try to just remind myself that every little bit counts. And eventually it does add up, even though it seems like it takes forever! But when it is transferred to my paypal account I usually feel a sense of satisfaction. Any money is welcome money!

Isn't that the truth! And here I am again, at the end of the month trying to turn my three dollar monthly total into ten dollars magically! Will she make it? Can she accomplish the impossible? Who knows. Stay tuned to find out.

to be honest, I am always disappointed whenever I see my earning but I don't know how mylot compute the earnings actually, I just having or assuming some data that is why I am quite disappointing. We should not expect, that is the better thing we should do so that when we received and unexpected increase we become happy. So far I haven't experienced something that makes me happy here in Mylot, but its okay I still love Mylot no matter what.

You're so right! I love posting on Mylot too. And it's not just about the money. Most days I earn at least $5.00 doing paid surveys online. So this is just for fun.

I knew from the beginning that mylot is not a good paying site. And I have instilled in my mind not to expect so much for what ever efforts I put in here. So when I get my earnings updated each day I am not disappointed as I expected it. And luckily I enjoy posting discussions and thrilled when I get responses which make earnings a secondary matter.

beautyqueen, I see that you said you had been with mylot for 3 years. When I first started commenting and posting here, I thought it might be a good way to make money, but after looking at my earnings, I decided not to worry about the money part. I just comment and post when a subject strikes my fancy or when one disturbs me. I see you have posted or commented 8882 times, would it be fair to ask roughly how much money you have made here in 3 years time? You don't have to answer that question, I was just wondering, probably none of my business!

My best day was almost six dollars. And that was cause I'd posted almost fifty discussions. I try to respond to all my discussions for at least the first day. After that it's hard to keep up. But I do go back on occasion and respond. My best month was well over $80 and that was with no referrals or tasks.

Since I do not post here for money's sake, no, but I have heard that quality of content counts and it is obvious when someone is just posting to earn money versus posting something that is truly worth reading. I do not respond to many things on here because they are not meant to be thought-provoking and worth my time and effort to answer. I prefer answering posts that were meant to start a true discussion, not just earn money. If I cannot have fun doing this, why would I be here? I am also not going to post for the sake of earning money on here because this can never replace a real job and the time put in for the few pennies is not worth my time. It would be more profitable working at a fast food restaurant for minimum wage than posting here. That being said, I do enjoy the good posts and when something comes to mind, I will post it in hopes of starting a good conversation or pass on, what I consider to be, important information.

Very good point! Even a minimum wage retail job pays more than this. Many times I've thought the same thing after spending an hour responding to discussions and then ending up with barely a nickel to show for my effort. If it weren't fun, I wouldn't post here either. But then again, if they didn't pay at least a nickel per discussion, I'd have to go elsewhere!

There are many times I know that I have gone like "What?" That is all I earned. And then another time I might only post back to maybe 10 New discussions and am quite Happy with what I earn. I think in reality there is no rhyme nor reason to what we can earn here, and that is what keeps it interesting. I just know that the payment is lower than what it was a couple of months ago, but no matter what I am still happy to be a member of here as well.

Totally feel the same way! Just happy to be nominated as the saying goes! No really. Some days I only ever get to speak to one other adult in person. Just nice to come here and talk. Being a stay at home/work at home mom, I don't get to socialize with too many other people my own age. Mylot is my entry back into the world of adults. Well, at least most of the people on this site act like adults.

Yes, I get disappointed most of the times. I worked hard and post as many as I could then the following day I am very much excited but then I got fewer than my expectations. But it is better to have a few cents than nothing at all.

Some days are that way! Other times when I post very little my daily earnings are almost as much as days when I have posted for hours. Not sure why.

Yes, I am disappointed to my earning in Mylot in these two months. Last month I was unable to reach the minimum payout. And this month I haven't reached it yet. Perhaps I am not so active in Mylot. But it seems that my earning is quite little than before:) I love China

Hello beautyqueen26, If it is more than what I expected, I am very happy and sometimes, it makes me smile! If it is less than what I expected, of course I feel sad and keep thinking how I can improve the earnings and why I always read about others who can earn far more better than me while doing the same thing. Human being never feel satisfied, maybe?

Chances are, the discussions you responded to were deleted and so thus your earnings were deleted for the responses. Just be more careful about choosing discussions. Cooking and pet discussions are rarely deleted as they are not deemed offensive to anyone. If you stick to the safe topics you are sure to increase your daily earnings with very little effort! Best of luck!

My best tip is to pick one favorite category like cooking or cats or money making and respond to all the discussions on the first three pages. That will help you see a significant increase in earnings with just an investment of one hour time daily. Best of luck on the site!
