So far as i know the star sign is our reputation number. The higher number is better. I don't know what actually its meaning for helping or increasing our earnings, but i believe it has its own benefit for us. Recently i read on someone's discussion, he said that the higher number on your star will give you the faster payout time. Whether it's true or not, i don't know. I think we can determine someone's activeness from the star's number. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Really the star doesn't really help our earnings. It is just a way g getting areputaton here whether good or bad. I really wouldn't worry about it to much, as you can bring it back up. I started with a 4 and I had it for a very long time, and I neer expected to get it any higher, but then all of a sudden it just shot right up. I am happy about that too, but if it should go back down then either I did something wrong or someone just didn't like my posts to well, and they disagreed with me in one form or another. It could be that users didn't like your posts for one reason or another, but it will come back up. Just keep doing what you hae been doing and you will see. Well, good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Personally for me it isnt of great value. You will find that it will go up and then down and then up over and over. Basically it depends on if someone agrees with you or not although that isnt what it is intended for.

I tried to find the discussion you mentioned here but I couldn't. I really don't worry about my star rating, it has little or no effect on our earnings depending on who you listen to. I know I haven't noticed a difference in my earnings as my star number has gone up and down. I think the problem is too many members here misuse the rating system. It's not meant for us to rate someone negatively because we disagree with their opinion or even because they use poor grammar or spelling. The negative is meant for when someone is abusive or disrespectful or if they violate myLot TOS. In my case I can't "prove" who knocked me down from a one-time 9 to a current 6 but I know it came from my posting in the politics interest. Some people are hesitant to post in any interest that may be "controversial" because they don't want their rating to drop. I enjoy posting in politics and I always try to be respectful but I'm not going to hide my views because I'm in the minority here. I usually give positive ratings unless a post is really not useful or well thought out, then I won't rate it at all. The only times I've ever used the minus have been if someone has been abusive to me or another member or if they've blatantly violated the TOS. Annie

Not anymore.May be I felt a little bad when I lost a star and was made to be satisfied only with 9.Time has changed my attitude towards the stats.I just concentrate and enjoy my Mylotting here. And I know that my friends are looking at me as what I am and not as a star or moon.

Nah, not much....I am just in it for the bling... Frankly, don't give a damn. Its mylot, after all. Seriously shortstaffed, and seriously exploitable. The star doesn't make any difference otherwise. Just a number. You get the same money.

i think the star as all rating measures here it is just a thing to give a sample about your activity or about the period you spend on mylot!!So i think as all rating system in the communities onlien is just a way ti improve their posts or writing and so motivate the users to do better their activities on the mylot too!! So normally i did not rate all discussions but i give best responses normally in my own discussions so..i think it can improve your earnings too having some best responses from other discussions...in reality i don't think much it just try to do a good activity here!

I wonder what really contributes to the rank of the star. I think best responses contribute to it. I don't think that it has something to do with our earnings. But, I am intersted to see what is the rank of my star and I am happy to see that the reputation (the value of start)is increasing.

Don't feel bad about it, the star doesn't affect your earnings. I used to worry about it, I have been here since February and can't get above a seven. I have one referral and she has had a ten for a couple of months. But she spends much more time here than me. We would all like to have a 10 but just one or two people rating us negatively can stop us from acheiving it. I generally go through discussions and rate people positively, just because we all want a pat on the back. But in the long run it will be okay and change your earnings! Keep up the good work!

thanks for responding i dont think we must all respond positive to the people , because some people may also do the mistakes, in those cases we must rate them negative too happy lotting

Hi, well i think thsi is really weird that this thing can happen on you, as you have not do anything which against the guidelines in mylot. Perhaps there's something wrong or mistakes that the admins done, or maybe is your discussions responded with some contents that are against the guidelines, and you didn't notice about it? Anyway, it is still fine now and you may not need to worry too much on this. Just keep on responding and post some quality responses and i believe the rating will go up back soon. For me the star rating is just a reference of how well have we been doing in mylot, and also it is as a encouragement for us to do better. I started with 6, then increased to 7, and 8 now. It is getting harder to increase the rating now. Hoep i will do better in future then. Good luck to you!

hi dear, i think you shouldn't take the star so serious. take it as a token of appreciation from mylot. i believe the star is the ratings you get from other lotters at mylot. since you stop lotting for awhile, i think the average rating has gone down. i'm unsure as i'm new here. i hope we'll get a wise lotter to share their wisdom!

thank you you are really a candy , i too think that the rating will be given by the mylottians and so i must accept it

Well at least you HAVE stars. I don't. I don't think they have a great value though. Like some of the other people mentioned, it's just a way to get reputation and make yourself look good. Most people like to be rude and just rate you down because they're jealous, jerks, or just like to do that to people. Don't worry about it, it's the discussions that count not your rating or stars.
