Newly pierced ears

I had my ears pierced a few weeks ago, I left them for 6 weeks so as they'd heal up properly, they're ok so far, but, the problem I've got is that they keep trying to heal up, I left my ear-rings out overnight, the holes at the back seemed to trying to close themselves, I couldn't manage to put my ear-rings in myself so my partner did it for me. He told me that my ears seemed to be trying to heal themselves and asked me if I had magic quick healing ears. So, my question is, is there any way to stop them healing over or do I have to wear some ear-rings all of the time, even at night? Thank you for your help.

It does seem that way Uncle Fishy, but no-one told me that, they just said to keep them in for 6 weeks, which I did. From now on I'm keeping some ear-rings in almost all of the time. Thank you. :)

Even though there is a hole in your ear that has healed your body will continue to try to close the holes. I have had my ears pierced for many years and have not worn earrings in quite a while and when I went to put my earrings in they had closed up on the back side of my ear I had to repierce my ears. I would recommend getting a nice little pair of stud earings to wear at night to prevent your ears from closing up. Congrats on your new piercing.

They will be like that for a bit. You might want to try doing another couple of weeks of keeping studs in because I think the 6 weeks is just a general minimum thingy but your ears might want to heal quicker. Also, the skin will begin to heal over a little bit. It's ok to push the earrings through and "re-pierce" the back bit if it seems like it's healing but I would say that you should probably just keep some studs in during the night at least for a little while and then see how they go. It might just be that your ears are more stubborn and need a bit more time than most to be told that the holes are supposed to be there.
