Which unlimited broadband do you think is the best?

We have an options such as SmartBro, PLDT MyDSL, Globe, Digitel. Which is the one do you think offers the best? I am currently using SmartBro Prepaid. But since I am an avid user of Internet, my budget for my SmartBro exceeds the cost of having a Plan. So I am now planning to subscribe on a Plan which is unlimited. Can you help me know which is the best among the broadband companies we are having now? Tell me your experiences and what are the advantages and disadvantages of using it? What is the one you can recommend?

Hi there, before i was using Pldt mydsl but i just finished my contract with them for about 1 year. The reason is that i am not satisfied with their service, i always bad connection when i am connecting to ym. And sometimes that i am uploading videos then in the middle of the download it will stop and i am being disconnected in ym. But in other website, it runs smoothly i dont know why it was always disconnected with ym. Now, i am using cable (this is first cable connection in our place) so i tried this for about 3 months already. Well, i dont encounter any problem so far, there are times that the connection is slow but i think its normal. I have 1 year contract here so will see in the coming days how cable works for me. My brother was using globe, he has always business in their home. But past few days their connection was not good. He tried to contact globe and good they respond but still after one day, its back again, problem in connecting to the server. Its based on my brother experience. In other internet provider i dont know how they works? Maybe i will try one if i have problem connecting with my current provider, well goodluck to you, keep on posting good discussion =)

Hi! Thank you for the useful information you have said. So you both encountered problems with PLDT and Globe. Actually I have applied for PLDT MyDSL, we have an existing PLDT landline so I just want to upgrade it so that I will have an Internet connection, but until now, the agent doesn't come back and no updates. And we also had a bad experience in their office, their service is not good. I have also heard problems that can be encountered in Globe. So I think I will prefer those other companies aside from PLDT and Globe. I haven't heard about the cable internet you have mentioned. Under what company is that? I hope we also have it here. Thanks for your response. Happy myLotting!

I also prefer PLDT coz it will be cheaper since we already have a PLDT landline. But they just cannot give us an Internet connection. They have many reasons that I really can't understand since they can connect to other houses. Reasons such as they're updating someting blah blah blah or something like they are still waiting for the notification something. It just makes me hate PLDT. It's good that you already had a connection and works fine. Have a nice day!

i do have same problem as you. there are times i can't access ym and yahoo mail but other sites are accessible. but for the low price i am paying for it i have no qualms. it is jut alright. and it is not that often that i encounter this problem and so i am still happy with my subscription . will not change to other company cause i think that they are all the same.

well it depends in your location if you are in GMA (Manila) & near provinces until Central Luzon SmartBro & PLDT MyDSL has the best signals, Region IV A&B and the Visayas has the best Globe Connections. Mindanao is mostly dominated by smart & globe

I am here in Batangas, so what do you think has the best signal here? We are included in Region IV, CALABARZON areas, so is it Globe that I should subscribe with? What do you think of Globe, is it ok? No hussle?

well globe has the best signal in the region but it would take a lot of hussel to get a connection since they focus on business entrepreneurs and banks rather than normal customers but if you get one it would be sweet

So it means I would have to wait a long time before I get the connection. But if their broadband service is good, then it's worth waiting for. I will take that to consideration. Thanks again! Happy myLotting!

yes, it makes better sense to have unlimited internet service if you are using the internet a lot. as some may have mentioned, it depends on the dominant service provider in your area, which gives the best connection and customer support. i have used smartbro and bayantel when i was in davao city, digitel in manila and currently using pldt mydsl here in batangas. all four service providers are currently being used still in my siblings' houses in those places. so far i have no complaints with the four service providers. the fastest connection i have though is from pldt, but it still depends on the package/plan you subscribed to. i haven't tried globe because i didn't get a good customer service during the time i was enquiring on their internet services. customer service is important for me as well as after-sales technical support.

It's good to get a response from my Kababayan from Batangas. So you think it's PLDT myDSL which is fastest here. That is also what I applied for. But I also had a bad customer service when we visited their office, they said they cannot put an Internet connection in our house, we just need to wait. So what I did is I texted one of their agent and he said he can give us connection. But until now, he hasn't come back. I will give them another week, if they will not give us connection, then I would go for another provider. Thanks for your response. Happy myLotting!

hello. where in batangas are you situated? sometimes it also depend if the service provider is operating in the area, new in the area or the area is already congested. my unlimited plan in pldt is bundled with a landline which i'm using for 13-14 months already. during the time i applied for the internet bundle, i talked with a marketing staff (which is easier). or you can call the customer care (via pldt landline) at 171 or 173. from my experience at least, they had a fast response. there was once a technical problem i had when after the storm, there was power interruption and the internet didn't get back on when the electricity resumed. i asked for technical support and that same day, 2 separate teams actually responded and went to our house. better choose the internet service provider you are most comfortable with that can speak reliability and service quality. not everyone has the same experience with the same provider... like you and i obviously had. hehe goodluck to your choice.

I am located here in Lipa City, how about you? Good for you that PLDT works well in your place. I also tried to call 171 before but it seemed it has a problem. What Plan are you using 999 or 1299? Those are the two plans which has a Landline bundled. I hope I will be able to choose the right broadband for my place. Have a nice day!

Ok, so i will based my response on my experience and my friends'. The worst i think would be Globe. My friend has been using Globe on dial up speed when it's supposed to be 512kbps. What's worse about it is the customer service. They suck big time and they seem clueless about everything. They went to my friends house then fix everything but it just got worse. They don't even know how to test speed. Smart Bro is ok but when it's broken, it will take you weeks or more to get your normal working speed back. I am using PLDT myDSL for almost 1 year now and so far so good. I am not getting the advertized speed of 48kbps but i'm getting 38kbps instead. I think it's better than not having to use it at all. My DSL has gone for just 30 mins max then it's back to normal. I never had an experience of losing my connection totally.

I see. So Globe really sucks, as what you said. Lol! So I would put Globe on the bottom of my list now. I have heard negative things about PLDT myDSL, but you said it's fine, so I would still include it in my most preferred. I think it is on second place now for me, being SmartBro as number one. Thanks for your response. Happy myLotting!

hello markmoney, I used to have SmartBro for a year but not prepaid, it's a mothly basis for a cost of 1k monthly for a year. Since my kids is not satisfied with it for it's always down so we changed it to Globe. Same cost but better performance. Though there is also some problem with it, like no connection during a certain time of the night especially 7 or so but I guess it's better. Planning to try PLDT after the term for the cost per month there is cheaper, landline and broadband at the same time.

Hello mark, For the same amount of money that I paid SmartBro and GlobeDSL, Globe is better because the speed is at 1MBPS while SmartBro is like 354MBPS. With that speed it is like having a dial connection. If you can get speed higher than 1MBPS with the same price, go for it. If you like to watch streaming video or downloading movies, 1MBPS is slow. Good luck. Regards.

I am located in the Visayas area, particularly in Cebu province. I use PLDT in my previous work and so as in this office. I frequently experience disconnection and some times, it lasts the whole day. They never give feedback if you report the problem. They will just say that it will be forwarded to the technical group or they will advise you to call the technical people directly. But most of time, really, they will never call you back. With the other ISP, I still have to try it. With my friends using other than PLDT, I never heard them complain...

I think the best unlimited broadband ISP, is PLDT MyDSL, all of the service provider you write here. If there is a cable Internet broadband, I prefer cable broadband. It's faster than MyDSL, if they are the same speed. I recommend MyDSL, my friend. Smartbro is not good. I used it, and I am not satify about the speed and connections. It always disconnected when there is storm...What about you. What is your connection ISP?

Yup! my friend. That what PLDT's good service and I like their services because connections of Internet is really good. Not like other Internet service providers that always have a problem in terms of connection. Like what I use today. Smartbro broadband. It always disconnected and connection is not reflect on the speed what you are applying for? They say that 512 kbps but if you compare on PLDT dsl, it's speed is like 128 kbps downstream and 50 kbps upstream...so frustrated my friend...

It is hard to tell which one is the best since it all boils down to your location. It would really be best to ask people around which internet connection do they have and if they have encountered major downtime to determine which broadband to get. I got the globe tattoo a few months back and the only reason why I got it is because I was going on a trip to Bataan. But when I got there the house we stayed in did not have good globe signal only in the other house so it was useless at that time. But when I got back to Manila there are still some spots that did not have a good connection. Basically there are some that will say PLDT is good some will say it isn't. We have PLDT and so far its all good but again it may be all good here and really bad there.
