I was wondering if anybody knew a little bit more about how rating works. I normally rate the discussion I coment on and some coments that were made on those discussions. I have not started that many discussions but I wanted to know if we have to rate one coment or all either with + or -. I know that some people have got the best respons and that is great but I don't know if I can rate more than one coment made to my discussion positive. Some times I forget to rate the coments and I woud notice and go back to rate them another day. Do we have to rate all the coments made to our discussoins? Do we have to rate just one? What happens if we rate more than one? What happens if we rate none?

You don't have to rate anything! I do, I feel if a person takes the time to respond to my posts the least I can do is honor them with my little + for thier effort, I very rarely give a - to anyone! As far as best responses go I always give those out or they stay in your active file, this closes them out! But people can comment on a post after many years if they chose to do so! tdemex

Comments are rated individually :) That means, anywhere that you see the +, - or !, you are rating that single response. How you rate each one has nothing to do with the rest of the discussion. It's a "case by case basis," I guess you could call it.

You can rate a plus or minus to all who post. But only one best response! That why it's called the BEST response. tdemex

I never have rated some one with the (-) yet.. When I am looking for a new discussion to respond to I may or may not say anything at all.. But when I do response to a discussion I always give the user a (+).. If I do not respond at all I just do not do anything to the person's discussion.. Granted I do not always agree with everything that is said on here.. Every one has a right to their own opinion. The only time I would use (-) is when someone is cutting someone else down or coming after me personally because of the way I feel about something.. Not everyone rates this way, which is their choice.. Oh by the way, I have heard some people use (-) when people do not use proper grammar.. I do not believe this is a nice practice, this site should be graded more on the content and not how it is written.. There are quite a few people on here that do not know English that well. Therefore grammar is out of the question.. It would be like us trying to learn a foreign language, and having to learn the proper grammar right off that bat, let along with just trying to communicate their whole thought... There is no specific way or wrong way to rate comments, its personal preference.. I also look at the way I look at others and I hope they would look at my writings the same way.. I do not always spell everything right, spell check doesn't always caught it either.. And grammar well, it just depends on my patience level at the time I am writing.. I would rather have a complete thought versus a discussion that has half my thought and grammatically correct.

I am happy that there are at least a few other people out there that agree with what I believe is to be fair.. I am not saying anything negative to anyone else out there that looks at the whole rating comments differently.. Its just nice to hear.. I was just winging it before, I have never been to a site quite like this before, and positive feedback always makes it easier to keep going.. Happy Mylotting!

You are right gramar and spelling shoud not count because I have some if not alot of errors in my gramar and spelling. I rate + most of the time some of the times I guess I rather not rate the discussion or coment on it when I don't like the discussion or if it's to nasty. I was wondering on how the rating works because I did not know if we were aloud to rate more than one coment made to our discussions and also I still do not know if the first coment that we rate counts as the best respons. I want to know because I don't want to rate the coments and then see that the second the last coment that I rate is the best respons for me. Also do you know if we have to rate it in a special time? Thank you for your honest opinion have a great night or day.

I like to rate users, as it lets them know that someone thought enough of there posts, to give them a good rating. I am like the one user, who said she rates hem with a positive or not at all. I think rating someone a negative is not only unfair and very cruel. The exception being they were nasty, then I would rate them a negative and report them, however so far, I haven't had to do that, and I hope I never do. It isn't something that I would want to do, but would be force to under those circumstances. Well, good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Thank you for your respons, and I think that I might not rate negative to a respons I also rather just not rate. So far I have not read a bad coment that might get a negative rating. I do like to think that all the members are nice and good people that are honest and so far I have only meet this people. have great mylotting day
